Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for determining quasi co-location (QCL) and/or transmission configuration information (TCI) state assumption information for a dynamic control resource set (CORESET). An example method by a user equipment (UE) generally includes receiving a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a control channel monitoring occasion, the first PDCCH indicating at least one dynamic CORESET; and receiving a second PDCCH within the dynamic CORESET, wherein the second PDCCH is received in accordance with at least one QCL assumption for the at least one dynamic CORESET.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify, for a user equipment (UE), a configuration for receiving a set of downlink control information (DCI) messages on one or more layers of a set of layers of a downlink shared channel. The base station may transmit, to the UE, a first DCI message in a downlink control channel, where the first DCI message may schedule resources of the downlink shared channel for the set of piggybacking DCI messages. The UE may receive the first DCI message and identify the configuration for receiving the set of DCI messages on the one or more layers of the downlink shared channel. The UE may receive, from the base station, the set of DCI messages on the one or more layers of the downlink shared channel based on the identified configuration.

Abstract: Aspects relate to configuration of a Layer 1 (L1) measurement report. A radio access network (RAN) node (e.g., a base station) can transmit at least one report setting, each associated with a selected information type, to a wireless communication device (e.g., a UE). The selected information type may be selected from a first information type and a second information type. When a report setting is associated with the first information type, the wireless communication device can transmit the L1 measurement report including both beam measurements and beam identifiers corresponding to the beam measurements for the report setting. When the report setting is associated with the second information type, the wireless communication device can exclude the beam identifiers from the L1 measurement report including the beam measurements for the report setting. Other aspects, features, and examples are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may account for propagation delay when initiating a random access (RACH) procedure. For example, the UE may determine transmission timing for a RACH preamble based on an estimated propagation delay, such that the RACH preamble is received at a base station approximately at the beginning of a slot. To support reliable communication of the RACH preamble, the UE may implement a timing offset. In some examples, the base station may configure the UE with the timing offset using system information. Alternatively, the UE may be pre-configured with the timing offset. By determining the transmission timing for the RACH preamble further based on the timing offset, the UE may ensure that the RACH preamble is received at the base station after a slot boundary (e.g., avoiding causing interference to communications in a previous slot).

A base station may dynamically cancel and reschedule configured transmission occasions for communicating with a user equipment (UE). The transmission occasions may be configured according to a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration (e.g., for downlink transmissions) or a configured grant (CG) configuration (e.g., for uplink transmissions). The base station may transmit a dynamic grant to the UE that indicates a cancellation of a transmission occasion and schedules a dynamic transmission occasion for communicating data scheduled for transmission at the canceled transmission occasion. In some examples, the cancellation in the grant may be explicit or implicit.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for communicating a satellite behavior change. In one aspect, a satellite identifies a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite of a non-terrestrial network for cellular communications. The apparatus also signals the satellite behavior change to a user equipment serviced by the satellite. In another aspect, a user equipment obtains, from a satellite servicing the user equipment, a signaling of a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite. The user equipment also adjusts one or more user equipment parameters for cellular communication based on the obtained signaling. The satellite behavior change may include a satellite attitude or a transmit power or coverage area of one or more satellite beams. The user equipment parameters may include satellite or beam selection or reselection to listen to paging information, satellite or beam handover parameters, or transmit power control parameters.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a user terminal in a satellite communication system during inter-beam handovers. In some aspects, the user terminal may determine an occurrence of an inter-beam handover for switching communication with a network controller of the satellite communication system from a first beam to a second beam. The user terminal measures a channel quality of the second beam based at least in part on the occurrence of the inter-beam handover, and sends the channel quality measurement to the controller via a reverse-link communication.
