    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling which indicates a resource block indicating a number of reference signal tones and data tones in an uplink transmission. In some cases, the UE may determine a first transmission power for the reference signal tones, and a second transmission power for the data tones that is different from the first transmission power. In some other cases, the UE may identify a frequency allocation for the resource block which allocates a same frequency bandwidth for the reference signal tones and the data tones, and the UE may determine a same transmission power for the reference signal tones and the data tones based on the frequency allocation. Based on the determination of transmission powers, the UE may transmit the reference signal tones and the data tones to a base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a first example, the user equipment (UE) may receive sidelink control information scheduling resources for a sidelink data transmission spanning a set of tones and indicating a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) pattern. The UE may identify that each tone of the set of tones is configured to carry a DMRS for a symbol of the DMRS pattern and may receive the sidelink data transmission based on the symbol of the DMRS pattern carrying the DMRS for each tone. In a second example, the UE may receive control signaling indicating a configuration for a non-overlapping relationship between a first resource for receiving a DMRS and a second resource for receiving a phase tracking reference signal. The UE may receive the DMRS over the first resource and the phase tracking reference signal over the second resource based on the non-overlapping relationship.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first downlink control message indicating a set of parameters for a scheduling request for the UE. The UE may then receive on a receive beam a second downlink control message, which may be a layer 1 signal, and determine uplink resources for the scheduling request and a transmission configuration indicator state for the scheduling request. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the scheduling request using the uplink resources.
