    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that a base station supports allocating resources for sidelink communications using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. The UE may transmit a sidelink information message to the base station using the first RAT that indicates that sidelink communications are to be performed using either the second RAT or both the first RAT and the second RAT. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station that comprises an identifier for the sidelink communications and an indication of available sidelink resources. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration message, a request for resources within the available sidelink resources, the request indicating the identifier and a buffer status report (BSR).

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for supporting V2X communications which may be implemented in various apparatuses, methods, and/or articles of manufacture. In certain aspects an extended transmission profile may be determined to support V2X communications via 5G NR RATs between two or more wireless devices. For example, one or more processing units of a wireless device may determine that a NR RAT is requested for a V2X communication based, at least in part, on service information associated with data to be transmitted, determine an extended Tx Profile for the V2X communication, and initiate transmission of at least a portion of the data via the NR RAT using the transceiver based on the extended Tx Profile.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that enable establishment of secure communications and security keys for a remote user equipment (UE) and a relay UE to perform relayed sidelink communications in which the remote UE communicates with a network via the relay UE. To establish secure communications for the direct communications between the relay UE and the remote UE, one or more security keys may be established encryption and decryption of communications. To establish the security keys, the relay UE may forward a request for direct communications to a key management function (e.g., a ProSe key management function (PKMF)) in a control plane of a core network (e.g., in a control plane message to the PKMF via an access and mobility function (AMF)). The PKMF may derive relay keys and return information related to the relay keys to the relay UE the remote UE.

    Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) using a location server and service based interfaces (SBIs) and SBI service operations in a Fifth Generation wireless network. The location server may be, e.g., a Location Management Function (LMF). The LMF may be in either a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) for a UE or in a Home PLMN for a roaming UE. The LMF may receive a location service request for the UE using an SBI and may communicate with another entity in the network, through a second entity and using an SBI, to obtain location information for the UE measured by the other entity. The LMF may determine a location for the UE based on the location information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) (e.g., a remote UE) may establish a relay connection for communicating with a network entity (e.g., a base station or a network device) via a second UE (e.g., a relay UE). The relay connection may include a sidelink connection and an access link connection. The remote UE may transmit a request to the network entity via the relay UE. The request may include a relay service code associated with the sidelink connection, as well as a request for quality of service (QoS) support for the relay connection. Based on the request, the network entity may determine a QoS configuration for the relay connection. The network entity may indicate the QoS configuration to the UEs via the relay connection. The UEs may adjust parameters of the relay connection to meet the specifications of the QoS configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may establish a unicast connection over a sidelink communications with a second UE. To establish the unicast connection over the sidelink, the first UE may transmit a request message (e.g., a first message) to the second UE, and the second UE may transmit a response message (e.g., a second message) to the first UE accepting the request. The unicast connection over the sidelink may then be established between the first UE and the second UE, and user data may then be transmitted over the sidelink on the established unicast connection. Additionally, the first UE may transmit a connection complete message (e.g., a third message) to the second UE indicating that the unicast connection has been established. The request message, the response message, and the connection complete message may be radio resource control (RRC) messages.

    Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to quality of service mapping, are provided. A first user equipment determines a sidelink radio bearer identifier (SLRB ID) for a quality of service (QoS) flow from a plurality of rules. The rules identify different characteristics of the QoS flow. The SLRB ID is inserted into a header of a packet in the QoS flow. The QoS flow is mapped to a radio bearer that is mapped to an L2 link with other radio bearers that are mapped to other QoS flows. The L2 link transmits the radio bearers to a second UE as part of a broadcast, groupcast or unicast sidelink communication. Based on the SLRB ID, the second UE identifies requirements of the QoS flow.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that improve privacy in wireless communications, such as communications by a user equipment (UE), which may in some cases be a vehicle UE. For example, various vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmissions may be unencrypted, and a vehicle may be expected to periodically change one or more identifiers it uses for various communication services. Privacy may be enhanced, for example, via encryption key roll-over, as well as roll-over of one or more other identifiers associated with a UE that may potentially be used by an observer to track the UE. The UE may transmit a message that includes an updated lower layer identifier (e.g., a layer-2 (L2) identifier) to another UE in a V2X unicast communications link, which may trigger a change in identifiers of a set of identifiers and an updated security context. All or a portion of the message may be encrypted.
