Abstract: A data processing method by a data sending apparatus is described. The method includes receiving a data packet from a PDCP layer, where the data packet is used as an RLC SDU. The method further includes encapsulating the RLC SDU into at least one RLC PDU, where each RLC PDU includes a header and a payload. The payload carries data from a single RLC SDU. It can be learned that a transmit end no longer performs concatenation processing at the RLC layer on the data packet. In this way, concatenation processing at the transmit end is reduced, and processing complexity and processing latency are further reduced. In addition, processing at a receive end also becomes simpler and more efficient.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a communication method, an apparatus, and a system. The communication method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a context identifier sent by a second radio access network device, and sending, to a first radio access network device, a first message that includes the context identifier; receiving, by a core network device, a second message sent by the first radio access network device, and sending, to the second radio access network device, a message that includes the context identifier; and receiving, by the core network device, context information of the terminal device that is sent by the second radio access network device, and sending the context information to the first radio access network device. Therefore, communication between the first radio access network device and the second radio access network device is ensured, and working efficiency is improved.

Abstract: This application provides a multicast service configuration method, including: a terminal device receives first configuration information used to send a multicast service in a first cell, and second configuration information used to send the multicast service in each second cell in a second cell set; selects a second cell from the second cell set and receives a data packet of the multicast service from the first cell based on the first configuration information, and then receives a data packet of the multicast service from the selected second cell based on the second configuration information; to combine the data packets of the same data content of the multicast service. The terminal device may learn of configurations of the multicast service in a current cell and another cell, and then receive a same multicast service from a plurality of cells, thereby improving communication quality of the multicast service.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a data transmission method, a base station, and a user equipment (UE). The method includes: generating, by a first base station, downlink radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs); and sending, by the first base station, a first part of downlink RLC PDUs in the downlink RLC PDUs to a user equipment UE, and sending a second part of downlink RLC PDUs in the downlink RLC PDUs to a second base station, so that the second base station sends the second part of downlink RLC PDUs to the UE. Hence, the first base station and the second base station are capable of jointly sending data to the UE, thereby improving a peak rate and a throughput of the UE.

A method for using a radio interface technology includes: using, by UE, a common frequency range, and optionally, using, by the UE, a dedicated frequency range to perform wireless network access.

A base station sends, to UE, configuration information of a first paging resource reserved by a core network for the UE. In the embodiments, all multiple cells included in a paging area use the first paging resource to perform paging area paging, and all the multiple cells use same paging scrambling code to scramble the first paging message when sending the first paging message.
