    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a pixel electrode having a stem electrode in a first direction and a plurality of branch electrode extending from the stem electrode. An angle between the stem electrode and each of the branch electrode increases as the branch electrodes approach a center of the stem electrode and the angle decreases as the branch electrodes approach an end of the stem electrode.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a thin film transistor panel including a first alignment layer, an opposing panel including a second alignment layer, and opposite to the thin film transistor panel, and a liquid crystal layer between the thin film transistor panel and the opposing panel, and including liquid crystal molecules, wherein a difference between a pretilt angle provided by the first alignment layer and a pretilt angle provided by the second alignment layer is equal to or greater than about 0.8 degree.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display including a liquid crystal panel including: a gate line and a data line disposed on a first substrate; a transistor connected to the gate line and the data line; a pixel electrode connected to the transistor; a second substrate facing the first substrate; red and green color conversion layers and a transmission layer disposed on one surface of the second substrate; a common electrode disposed on one surface of the red and green color conversion layers and the transmission layer; and a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules disposed between the first and second substrates. The data line is disposed adjacent to one edge of the pixel electrode, and an arrangement of liquid crystal molecules disposed at a part corresponding to the data line is the same as an arrangement of liquid crystal molecules of a part corresponding to the pixel electrode.

    Abstract: Liquid crystal display includes a first substrate which includes a pixel electrode disposed in each pixel, a second substrate which faces the first substrate and includes a common electrode and an insulating layer, and a liquid crystal layer which is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, where the common electrode includes a first common electrode which is disposed on the whole surface defining the second substrate and a second common electrode which is disposed on the first common electrode with the insulating layer interposed therebetween and includes an opening defined in each pixel, and each pixel includes a first region in which the pixel electrode and the first common electrode face each other through the opening and a second region in which the pixel electrode and the second common electrode face each other.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes, a first insulation substrate, a first subpixel electrode disposed on the first insulation substrate, an insulation layer disposed on the first subpixel electrode, a second subpixel electrode disposed on the insulation layer, a liquid crystal layer disposed on the second subpixel electrode, a common electrode disposed on the liquid crystal layer, and a second insulation substrate disposed on the common electrode.     Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a first insulation substrate; a lower electrode disposed on the first insulation substrate; a second insulation substrate facing the first insulation substrate; an upper electrode disposed on the second insulation substrate and facing the lower electrode; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the lower electrode and the upper electrode. The lower electrode forms one unit region, the unit region includes a plurality of subregions, and the lower electrode includes: a first lower electrode including a central pattern disposed at a center of a border between each pair of adjacent subregions, and a plurality of micro branch portions that are coupled to the central pattern, the micro branch portions of two different subregions extending in different directions; and a second lower electrode having intersecting elongated portions that each extend along parts of the border.
