Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining information identifying a first physical location viewed by a user in a first application. The method further includes detecting a first input. In response to detecting the first input: a second application is identified that is capable of accepting geographic location information; and an affordance is presented that is distinct from the first application, with a suggestion to open the second application. The suggestion includes information about the first physical location. The method further includes detecting a second input at the affordance. In response to detecting the second input at the affordance, the second application is opened and populated to include information that is based at least in part on the information identifying the first physical location.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to systems, methods, and computer readable medium for mapping particular user interactions, e.g., gestures, to the input parameters of various image processing routines, e.g., image filters, in a way that provides a seamless, dynamic, and intuitive experience for both the user and the software developer. Such techniques may handle the processing of both “relative” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent on how much an input to the device has changed relative to a previous value of the input, and “absolute” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent only on the instant value of the input to the device. Additionally, inputs to the device beyond user-input gestures may be utilized as input parameters to one or more image processing routines. For example, the device's orientation, acceleration, and/or position in three-dimensional space may be used as inputs to particular image processing routines.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a method for providing interactive notification elements. A device receives a first message and displays a first notification element in a first area of a user interface. The first notification element includes information about the received first message. While displaying the first notification element, the device receives a second message. In response, the device determines whether the second message is associated with the first message. When the second message is associated with the first message, the device displays a second notification element in the first area. The second notification element includes information about the received second message.

Abstract: Techniques for live location sharing are described. A first mobile device and a second mobile device can communicate with one another using an IM program. The first mobile device can receive a user input to share a location of the first mobile device in the IM program. Sharing the location can include causing the second mobile device to display a location of the first mobile device in an IM program user interface on the second mobile device. Duration of sharing the location can be user-configurable. The second mobile device may or may not share a location of the second device for display in the IM program executing on the first mobile device.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a messaging application on the display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a message-input area, and an icon for an interactive application that is displayed within the conversation transcript. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects an input that activates the icon for the interactive application; in response to detecting the input that activates the icon for the interactive application, the device displays a user interface for the interactive application in a first state. While displaying the user interface for the interactive application, the device detects a first user input within the user interface for the interactive application; and, in response to detecting the first user input within the user interface for the interactive application: the device changes display of the user interface for the interactive application from the first state to a second state, and sends information, to the one or more electronic devices that correspond to the at least one other user included in the messaging session, indicating that the first user input was made in the user interface for the interactive application, wherein the one or more electronic devices display an indicia of the first user input.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively assisting users with accurately locating a parked vehicle are disclosed herein. An example method includes: automatically, and without instructions from a user: determining that a user of the electronic device is in a vehicle that has come to rest at a geographic location. Upon determining that the user has left the vehicle at the geographic location, the method includes automatically, and without instructions from a user: determining whether positioning information, retrieved from the location sensor to identify the geographic location, satisfies accuracy criteria. Upon determining that the positioning information does not satisfy the accuracy criteria, the method includes: providing a prompt to the user to input information about the geographic location. In response to providing the prompt, the method includes receiving information from the user about the geographic location and storing the information as vehicle location information.

Abstract: As computer processing power has increased and mobile devices have proliferated, with users often own multiple devices and utilize larger numbers of tabs in the browsers on their devices. In order to enhance user experience with these developments, tab organization is improved through tab scrolling and tab overviews. Further, users often utilize private browsing sessions when they desire their device to retain less information about their browsing history. Switching between private and regular browsing sessions and having to open, close, and otherwise manage separate sessions can be cumbersome. Switching between private browsing sessions and regular browsing sessions can be performed in an efficient manner that indicates to the user the type of session they are currently in and whether they would like to retain a set of tabs or favorite web pages for a private browsing session.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively populating an application with information that was previously viewed by a user in a different application are disclosed herein. An example method includes: while displaying a first application, obtaining information identifying a first physical location viewed by a user in the first application. The method also includes exiting the first application and, after exiting the first application, receiving a request from the user to open a second application that is distinct from the first application. In response to receiving the request and in accordance with a determination that the second application is capable of accepting geographic location information, the method includes presenting the second application so that the second application is populated with information that is based at least in part on the information identifying the first physical location.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sharing location information during a message conversation are provided. An electronic device detects a location-sharing request from a first participant of a message conversation to share first participant location information with a second participant. The device then enables the second participant to obtain the first participant location information during a predetermined location-sharing time period. In response to detecting interaction by one of the first participant and the second participant with the message conversation during the predetermined location-sharing time period, the device extends the predetermined location-sharing time period.
