Abstract: A fluid end 15 for a multiple reciprocating pump assembly 12 comprises at least three plunger bores 61 or 91, each for receiving a reciprocating plunger 35. Each plunger bore has a plunger bore axis 65 or 95. The plunger bores are arranged across the fluid end to define a central plunger bore with lateral plunger bores located on either side. The fluid end 15 also comprises at least three respective suction valve bores 59 or 89 in fluid communication with the plunger bores. Each suction valve bore can receive a suction valve 41 and has a suction valve bore axis 63 or 93. The fluid end 15 also comprises at least three respective discharge valve bores 57 or 87 that can receive a discharge valve 43 and are in fluid communication with the plunger bores. Axes of suction and discharge valve bores are offset in the fluid.

Abstract: A check valve assembly has a body having a central cavity intersected by upstream and downstream flow passages. A seat is secured by a threaded engagement in the upstream flow passage. An access bore intersects the cavity and has a support shoulder formed in it. A holder is supported on the support shoulder. A flapper is pivotally secured to the holder and located in the cavity for movement between an open position and a closed position blocking flow through the seat. A straight edge portion in the access bore engages a straight edge portion of the holder to prevent rotation of the holder. A fastener extends through a hole in the support shoulder into engagement with the seat to prevent rotation of the seat.

Abstract: A reciprocating pump assembly includes a power frame that houses a crankshaft. The crankshaft is mechanically connected to a large gear or bull gear on each end that is in mechanical engagement with a small gear or pinion bearing. A bearing housing is integrally formed as part of the power frame with an increased width and a constant inner diameter. A pinion bearing assembly, having an inner race, an outer race, and spherical bearings is placed around the shaft of the pinion bearing. The pinion is installed in the reciprocating pump assembly such that the bearing assembly rests on the bearing housing, which is integrally formed as part of the power frame. The bearing assembly is free to float in the bearing housing and provides for some lateral movement of the shaft and bearing assembly during operation of the reciprocating pump assembly.

Abstract: A sacrificial body mitigates cavitation damage to components within a pump. The sacrificial body is mounted in the pump so that flowing fluid passes over the sacrificial body, which causes the sacrificial body to shed electrons into the flowing fluid in the vicinity of the cavitation. The excess electrons tend to suppress hydrogen ions from releasing, which can mitigate cavitation. The sacrificial body is formed of a material having less resistance to corrosion due to the flowing fluid than the components of the pump. Needles are attached to the sacrificial body for immersion in the flowing fluid to facilitate the release of the electrons for the sacrificial body.

Abstract: An assembly for moving a pair of flowline members relative to each other has a pair of flowline collars that are adapted to connect to an end portion of one of the pair of flowline members. The assembly has an arm member with an end portion rotationally mounted to one of the flowline collars and a connecting member pivotally mounted to the other flowline collar. The connecting member is pivotally mounted to the arm member a distance away from the end portion of the arm member that is connected to the flowline collar, so that rotational movement of the arm member moves the flowline members relative to each other. The assembly can also have an incremental distance adjustor assembly which maintains an incremental change in the distance between the pair of flowline collars during a rotational movement of the arm member.

Abstract: A flowline connection assembly connects first and second tubular members to each other. Each tubular member has an external flange on its end. A recess is formed in the bore at the end of each of the tubular members. A seal ring extends into each of the conical recesses. A clamp with two halves, each with cam surfaces that engage the flanges and pull the tubular members axially toward each other. Bolts extend from one clamp half into the other. A retainer ring on each bolt retains the bolts with one of the clamp halves.

Abstract: An electrical motor rotatably drives a motor shaft, and a helical rib radially extends from the shaft. The helical rib supports a number of balls, and forms a channel to accommodate the balls. The balls are dropped from the helical rib when the balls reach the bottom of the helical rib. Several targets are affixed to the shaft. A sensor is located adjacent to and apart from the shaft, and is positioned in close proximity to the targets. The sensor senses each target as each target rotates past the sensor. The number of targets sensed per revolution of the shaft is equal to the number of balls dropped from the helical rib per revolution of the helical rib. The piston rod has a piston portion at an end that stokes within a piston chamber. The pump assembly also includes a piston rod sleeve that houses the piston rod.
