Abstract: A reciprocating pump assembly having a crankshaft rotatable by an attached motor and coupled by a connecting rod to a crosshead member. On a side opposite the connection to the connecting rod, the crosshead member connects to a plunger. The plunger is coaxially disposed in a cylinder provided in a cylinder block. Rotating the crankshaft reciprocates the crosshead member and attached plunger. In an embodiment the crosshead member includes an outer shell and a core portion within the shell formed from a material different from the shell material.

Abstract: A fluid control valve utilizes a rotatable plug valve member mounted in a fluid passage to control the flow of fluids. Two segments are placed on each side of the plug valve member within a recess located between the plug valve member and the body of the fluid passage. The outer surface of the segments includes an elastomeric seal and metal annular boss, which acts as a stop to limit deformation of the seal when the valve is closed and under pressure.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve has a housing fluidly connected to a pressurized system line carrying a system fluid. The housing carries a moveable piston and a valve member that both move between closed and open positions. The piston defines an upper chamber and a lower chamber within the housing. A pressurized fluid is supplied to the upper chamber to bias the piston toward the closed position. After the relief valve opens from excessive system pressure, the pressurized fluid is injected into the lower chamber to delay the return of the piston to the closed position. Initially, the fluid in the lower chamber flows through a check valve while the piston returns to the closed position. Then the fluid vent in the lower chamber vents from the lower chamber as the piston and valve member approach the closed position.

Abstract: The fluid end of a reciprocating pump contains a plurality of manifold cylinders for pumping fluid. The fluid end has an improved liner assembly with a shaft, a coaxial piston, and a liner with a liner seal on an outward end. The liner and seal abut an inner wall of the manifold to prevent pressurized fluid leakage between the liner and the manifold. The liner is pressed against the manifold by an adjustment mechanism which is mounted to a housing surrounding the pump. The adjustment mechanism is spaced axially away from the manifold wall and allows the liner to self-adjust to the wall without the need for a liner bushing. A support device is provided for assisting in the vertical alignment of the liner assembly prior to the liner being pressed tightly against the manifold wall.

Abstract: A flowline connection assembly connects first and second tubular members to each other. Each tubular member has an external flange on its end. A conical recess is formed in the bore at the end of each of the tubular members. A metal ring has a pair of legs extending in opposite axial directions, each of the legs having a conical outer surface that engages one of the conical recesses. Abstract: A high pressure flow line that is formed from sections of pipe that are coupled together is provided with a safety restraint assembly. The safety restraint assembly is formed by wrapping short, flexible rib tethers around the pipeline near the ends of each section of pipe. A plurality of long tethers are linked end-to-end to form a continuous spine, which is threaded through all of the rib tethers. Each of the tethers contains continuous filaments. The spine is then anchored at each of its terminal ends to suitable anchoring structures. Alternatively, the safety restraint assembly may utilize anchor elements in addition to the tethers.
