Abstract: A device for sealing an aperture in a tissue includes: a foot including a distal portion configured to be disposed distal to the tissue when the device is implanted in a position to seal the aperture; and a flexible wing positionable against a distal surface of the tissue adjacent the aperture such that the flexible wing is disposed between the distal portion of the foot and the distal surface adjacent the aperture.

Abstract: A magazine (200;400) for dispensing at least one band (106) onto the tip of a haemorrhoid ligator (100), the magazine (200; 400) comprising at least one expander receiving a respective band, the expander being arranged to expand the band and push it onto the tip (104) of the ligator (100) as the tip (104) is inserted into the magazine (200; 400). The only action required by the medical practitioner to load the band (106) onto the ligator (100) from the magazine (200;400) is to push the tip (104) of the ligator (100) inside the magazine (200; 400) whereupon the band (106) is expanded, pushed into place and is ready for immediate discharge. Therefore the magazine (200; 400) provides a medical practitioner with an easy way to load a haemorrhoid ligator (100).

Abstract: A fastener cartridge can comprise, one, a cartridge body configured to at least partially store a plurality of fasteners therein and, two, a layer of material attached to the cartridge body by a retention member. The retention member can be deactivated to release the layer from the cartridge body when a firing member is moved through the cartridge body to eject the fasteners from the cartridge body. The retention member can be deactivated at the beginning, the end, and/or at any suitable time during a firing stroke of the firing member. Certain fastener cartridges can comprise a plurality of retention members configured to releasably hold the layer to the cartridge body. In certain circumstances, the retention members can be sequentially released in order to progressively release the layer.

The housing defines a gap that is configured to receive a portion of an end effector of a surgical stapler. A portion of the platform is exposed in the gap defined by the housing. The buttress assembly is positioned on the platform. The buttress assembly is exposed in the gap defined by the housing. The data communication feature is configured to provide communication of data relating to the cartridge. The data communication feature may communicate with a complementary data communication feature of the surgical stapler.

Abstract: A device for occluding a vasculature of a patient including a micrograft having an absorbent polymeric structure with a lumen of transporting blood. The micrograft has a series of peaks and valleys formed by crimping. The occluding device is sufficiently small and flexible to be tracked on a guidewire and/or pushed through a microcatheter to a site within the vasculature of the patient. Delivery systems for delivering the micrografts are also disclosed.

Abstract: Several embodiments disclosed herein relate to apparatus and methods for treating a diverticulum. In some examples, disclosed is a clip placement device for diverticulum inversion. The clip placement device can include a tubular body, a clip attachment structure, and a pusher structure. In some examples, the clip attachment structure has a distal end that is attachable to a clip and wherein the clip attachment structure is configured to engage with the distal end of the tubular body. In some examples, the pusher structure is configured to removeably connect to the clip attachment structure.

Abstract: Several embodiments disclosed herein relate to apparatus and methods for treating a diverticulum. In some examples, disclosed is a device for inverting a diverticulum including a device body, a pushing apparatus that includes a rod and a blunt end, and a user actuated structure that provides control of the pushing apparatus. Also disclosed is a method for inverting a diverticulum. The method can include positioning a device along an outer wall of a colon at a diverticulum, inverting the outer surface of the diverticulum with the distal end of the device, and then actuating the user actuated structure such that the pushing apparatus interacts with the diverticulum to further invert the diverticulum.

Abstract: Several embodiments disclosed herein relate to apparatus and methods for treating a diverticulum. In some examples, disclosed is a clip placement device for diverticulum inversion. The clip placement device can include a clip tube, a clip, a clip attachment structure, and an expansion apparatus. A method for clip placement for diverticulum inversion can also be included. The method can include positioning the distal end of a clip placement device along an outer wall of a colon at a diverticulum, inverting the diverticulum, and advancing a portion of the clip placement device into the inverted diverticulum. The diverticulum can then be expanded with the expansion apparatus. The method can then include engaging the clip with the diverticulum, and withdrawing the clip placement device in a proximal direction such that that clip attachment structure disengages from the clip from the clip placement device.
