Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration associated with a service, the configuration indicating a first set of one or more parameters for accessing the service in a multicast mode using non-access stratum (NAS)-based signaling, and a second set of one or more parameters for accessing the service in a broadcast mode within a broadcast service area. The UE may receive information associated with the service using one of the multicast mode or the broadcast mode. The UE may switch to receiving information associated with the service using the other of the multicast mode or the broadcast mode based at least in part on the first set of one or more parameters or the second set of one or more parameters.
