Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for managing long low-density parity check (LDPC) codewords in ultra high reliability (UHR) systems. One method for wireless communication may be performable at a transmitter device or node. The method may include transmitting signaling to a receiver device or node indicating that the transmitter device supports use of a first LDPC codeword length that is greater than or equal to a threshold LDPC codeword length. The method may further include transmitting an LDPC codeword of the first LDPC codeword length (e.g., a long LDPC codeword) to the receiver device when one or more conditions are satisfied.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing carrier frequencies for wireless communications in wireless local area networks. Some implementations more specifically relate to beamforming training operations that support wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz. In some aspects, a beamforming initiator may initiate a beamforming training operation by transmitting a number (N) of beamforming training (BFT) packets in N TX beam directions, respectively, on a carrier frequency above 7 GHz. The beamforming responder receives one or more of the BFT packets and provides feedback to the beamforming initiator indicating the TX beam direction associated with the BFT packet having the highest received signal power. In some aspects, the beamforming responder may train its RX antennas for RX beamforming concurrently while the beamforming initiator trains its TX antennas. In some other aspects, the beamforming responder may train its RX antennas after the beamforming initiator trains its TX antennas.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for partial bandwidth feedback for 480 and 640 MHz transmission in Wi-Fi. Some aspects more specifically relate to the inclusion of a partial bandwidth information field in a null data packet (NDP) announcement frame that indicates for which frequency portions of the 480 or 640 MHz channel bandwidth to generate channel information feedback. In some examples, a receiving device (for example, a station (STA)) may perform channel estimation on an NDP and transmit a beamforming report to the transmitting device (for example, an access point (AP)) based on the NDP. The transmitting device schedules the NDP using an NDP announcement frame, which includes the partial bandwidth information field. The partial bandwidth information field in the NDP announcement frame may include a frequency resolution field and a bitmap with values and lengths based on the channel bandwidth being 480 or 640 MHz.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for interpreting reserved bits and values associated with different releases of a wireless communication protocol. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may determine whether to terminate or continue reception of a physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) if it detects a reserved bit in the physical layer preamble set to an unsupported value (such as a value different than what is defined by a version or release of the wireless communication protocol supported by the wireless communication device). In some other implementations, a wireless communication device may determine whether to terminate or continue reception of a PPDU if it detects a field in the physical layer preamble set to a reserved value (such as defined by a version or release of the wireless communication protocol supported by the wireless communication device).

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for techniques for reducing feedback information in an extremely high throughput (EHT) wireless local area network (WLAN). A receiving device (beamformee), such as a station (STA), may receive a sounding signal from a transmitting device (beamformer), such as an access point (AP), and transmit channel feedback. The receiving device may transmit the channel feedback as part of a reduced compressed beamforming feedback (CBF) operation that includes determining a first set of channel characteristics. The receiving device may select a subset of the first set of channel characteristics and determine a set of differential characteristics based on the subset. The transmitting device may then transmit the sets of characteristics as reduced CBF to the transmitting device. The transmitting device may determine a channel estimation for beamformed signaling based on the reduced CBF.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A station (STA) may receive a null data packet (NDP) on a plurality of subcarriers, and the STA may generate a channel state information (CSI) matrix for each subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers. After generating a CSI matrix for a subcarrier, such as at least one subcarrier, the STA may scale each value in the CSI matrix using a power-of-two value to minimize complexity. Specifically, instead of scaling each value in the CSI matrix to a value between zero and one using divisions (for example, which may be computationally expensive), the STA may use shifting to scale each value in the CSI matrix. The STA may then quantize the scaled values in the CSI matrix for reporting, and the STA may transmit the quantized, scaled values in the CSI matrix in a CSI report.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for configuring tones for a distributed resource unit (RU) across a channel bandwidth to improve frequency diversity and available transmit power. A distributed RU may include a set of tones that may be allocated across a bandwidth that is greater than a bandwidth of the aggregate quantity of tones. The set of tones may include a set of data tones grouped into contiguous groups of one or more data tones and a set of non-contiguous pilot tones. The data tones may be mapped to useful tones over a center portion of a half-bandwidth of the channel. The pilot tones may be mapped near edge tones at edges of the channel bandwidth or near direct current tones at a center of the channel bandwidth. A system bandwidth may include one or more channel bandwidths associated with distributed RUs.
