摘要: A system for controlling a wind turbine is disclosed. A system includes a light source and a beam scanner to scan the light pulses over the wind turbine. The system further receives backscattered light pulses and subsequently, provides a signal corresponding to the light pulses. The system adjusts a threshold of the signal based on a normalized value of a detected peak value of the signal. The system associates a time of flight with each of the received backscattered light pulse. The system generates an image of the wind turbine based on the time of flight associated with the light pulses and subsequently, compares the generated image with at least one known image of the wind turbine. The system generates a health profile of the wind turbine based on the comparison and subsequently, change one or more parameters of the wind turbine based on the health profile.

摘要: A rotor of a wind turbine may cast an intermittent shadow onto an object in the vicinity of the turbine. A shadow-control system stops the wind turbine, based on a shadow-related shut-down condition. The condition is based on a result of a comparison between a direct-light intensity and an indirect-light intensity being beyond a direct-to-indirect light threshold. A set of light sensors measures the direct- and indirect-light intensities. A sensor measures the direct light intensity when irradiated by the sun, and the indirect-light intensity when not irradiated by the sun. The set of light sensors to provide the measured direct- and indirect-light intensities for the comparison consists of two sensors, an eastward-oriented sensor and a westward-oriented sensor.

摘要: A load monitoring system for wind turbine blades utilizes optical fibre strain sensors (5) moulded into the turbine blades. A sensor monitoring instrument is located in the hub (3) of the turbine. Various arrangements of cabling are disclosed to maximize fault tolerance. Various arrangements of a temperature compensation device for the strain sensors is also disclosed. The strain sensors (5) and optical fibre (7) may be provided on a pre-cured patch (9) for incorporation in the structure of the turbine blade. Furthermore, it is disclosed that each blade comprises an optical fibre strain sensor and a cable to connect the sensors to processing equipment, wherein each such cable includes a connector at each end whereby each blade can be replaced independently. Also, it is shown to provide an output connector for connecting the sensor to processing equipment in a cavity that is filled with a material for inhibiting free movement of the output connector.

摘要: An arrangement for determining a rotational-speed of a blade rotating around an axis is provided. A transmit-unit is located at the rotating blade, while a receive-unit is located at the rotating hub of the blade. The transmit-unit and the receive-unit are connected by a transmission-system, which is used to transmit a signal from the transmit-unit to the receive-unit. A detection-unit is located at the blade, which is used to detect a force acting on the blade due to the rotation of the blade. The detection-unit is built to interrupt the transmission of the signal when the detected force exceeds a predetermined value. The receive-unit comprises a control-unit, which detects a high rotational-speed of the blade by evaluating the interrupted transmission of the signal. The transmission-system is built as an optical-transmission system, which transmits an optical-signal from the transmit-unit to the receive-unit for evaluation.

Said device comprises at least one distance sensor (7a, 7b) which is arranged on the wind energy installation (1) and used for the non-contact measurement of the distance between the rotor blades (5) and a pre-determined point on the wind energy installation (1). The device also comprises an electronic evaluation system in which the distance data measured by the at least one distance sensor (7a, 7b) is evaluated, said system emitting a collision warning in the event of a critical distance not being reached.

The rotor also includes comprises at least one sensor for sensing at least one physical value of the rotor, e.g. mechanical stress, and a power supply for supplying electrical power to the at least one sensor. The power supply includes an electromechanical converter for converting mechanical energy from vibrations of the rotor when subjected to wind loads, e.g. during operation of the wind energy turbine, into electrical energy for supplying to the at least one sensor.

摘要: A fiber optic safety system for a wind turbine. The system includes a series of switching elements coupled together to indicate a fail-safe condition of the wind turbine. The system also includes a plurality of optical transceivers, a plurality of optical conductors, and a blade pitch controller. Each of the optical transceivers is disposed at least at a down tower and an up tower of the wind turbine. The optical conductors are then coupled to the optical transceivers to carry optical signals between the down tower and the up tower. The blade pitch controller is connected to an up-tower optical transceiver, where the controller controls wind turbine blades.
