    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may operate in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state of a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the UE operating in the RRC inactive state, a single frequency network (SFN) for a notification zone that is configured for the UE, the notification zone comprising a plurality of cells. The UE may receive one or more synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) broadcast by the plurality of cells over the SFN. The UE may perform a channel measurement procedure based at least in part on the one or more SSBs received over the SFN.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for transmission of an indication of an activated bandwidth part (BWP) or component carrier (CC), or combination thereof, to a user equipment (UE) through downlink control information (DCI) that is excluding a grant of resources of the BWP or CC. A UE may establish a connection with a base station in which one or more CCs may be configured with one or more BWPs. The base station may indicate which BWP is active for a transmission in DCI that is transmitted subsequent to the configuration of the one or more CCs, and a UE may activate a corresponding BWP or CC based on the indication. In some cases, a CC may be deactivated unless the DCI indicates that at least one BWP of the CC is active.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information within a control resource set (CORESET) configured with a wideband demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and including disjoint segments of resource blocks (RBs). The downlink control information may be located at least partially within a first segment of the disjoint segments and a second segment of the disjoint segments may be exclusive of the downlink control information. The downlink control information may include a grant of a set of resources for a downlink shared channel that overlaps with the CORESET. The UE may determine a rate matching operation for the wideband DMRS for a downlink shared channel for portions of the set of resources that overlap with the second segment of the disjoint segments, and receive the downlink shared channel on the set of resources according to the determined rate matching operation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain access to a base station by performing an initial access procedure within an initial access bandwidth that contains control channel resources. The UE may receive a configuration of a downlink bandwidth part (BWP) following the initial access procedure, and may determine that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth. In some cases, the UE may make the determination based on an indication sent from the base station. For instance, the indication may be provided as part of one or more control channel configurations transmitted to the UE. Based on determining that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth, the UE may monitor for control information in the downlink BWP using control channel resources in the downlink BWP that correspond to control channel resources used in the initial access bandwidth.

    Abstract: Techniques are described for signaling a downlink bandwidth part (BWP) switching event and an aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) request in a paired spectrum environment. The base station may transmit uplink scheduling downlink control information (DCI) to a user equipment (UE) that includes the A-CSI request and an identifier for the downlink BWP of the downlink BWP switching event. After receiving the A-CSI request and the downlink BWP, the UE may perform one or more CSI measurements using the downlink BWP. The UE may use physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources associated with the uplink scheduling DCI to transmit the CSI report to the base station. Using these techniques, the base station may be configured to indicate that a downlink BWP switching event is to occur and allocate PUSCH resources to the UE to be used to transmit the CSI report associated with the downlink BWP switching event.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify a channel condition change (e.g., a beam switch, a bandwidth part (BWP) switch) for a channel between the base station and a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates the identified channel condition change and a resource allocation for transmissions between the base station and the UE. The base station may select a pattern of time and frequency resources for a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) for tracking for the UE, and transmit the CSI-RS using the identified pattern. The UE may identify the pattern based on the received DCI, and receive the CSI-RS using the identified pattern of time and frequency resources.
