Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating semi-static TCI configurations are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving, from a base station, a first downlink message including a TCI state indicator. The example method also includes initiating a timer after receiving the first downlink message including the TCI state indicator. Additionally, the example method includes receiving, after the timer expires, subsequent downlink messages using the indicated TCI state until a second downlink message including a TCI state change indication is received. An example method for wireless communication at a base station includes transmitting, to a UE, a first downlink message including a TCI state indicator. The example method also includes initiating a timer after transmitting the first downlink message including the TCI state indicator. Additionally, the example method includes transmitting, after the timer expires, subsequent downlink messages based on the indicated TCI state.

Abstract: Generating, by a user equipment (UE) of a wireless access network, for a set of contention-based random access occasions of a base station of the network, a random number over an interval. For the generated random number meeting a threshold value within the interval, transmitting, by the UE and to the base station, a random access preamble within one of the random access occasions of the set. For the generated random number not meeting the threshold value, attempting, by the UE, contention-based access to the network within a subsequent set of random access occasions of the base station, the subsequent set of random access occasions occurring after the set of contention-based random access occasions of the base station.

Abstract: Various aspects relate to adjusting communication timing in response to a switch from one feeder link to another feeder link in a non-terrestrial network. For example, when a satellite moves out of the coverage area of a first ground network entity (or if the first ground network entity is turned off), the satellite switches to a second ground network entity. The resulting switch from a first feeder link for the first ground network entity to a second feeder link for the second ground network entity may cause a timing glitch that adversely affects the UEs under the coverage of the satellite. The disclosure relates in some aspects to sending an indication of the switch and/or a common timing adjust command to all of the UEs affected by the feeder link switch.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble configuration that indicates a first preamble format for a first PRACH preamble and a second preamble format for a second PRACH preamble, wherein the first preamble format is different from the second preamble format. The UE may transmit the first PRACH preamble as part of a random access procedure based at least in part on the PRACH preamble configuration, wherein transmitting the first PRACH preamble enables a determination of a symbol boundary offset. The UE may transmit the second PRACH preamble as part of the random access procedure based at least in part on the PRACH preamble configuration, wherein transmitting the second PRACH preamble enables a determination of a symbol timing offset. The UE may determine that the downlink transmission includes a downlink data message multiplexed with second DCI. The UE may receive an indication of a second resource allocation for the second DCI. The UE may determine a transport block size (TBS) of the downlink data message based on the first resource allocation for the downlink transmission and the second resource allocation for the second DCI. The UE may then process the downlink transmission based on the TBS of the downlink data message.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a configuration of a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) to be transmitted by a first base station or a second base station. In some cases, the UE may be served by the first base station and the UE may receive, from the first base station or the second base station, a message indicating that a transmission of at least one SSB of the set of SSBs is canceled and indicating resources for a signal (e.g., a reference signal, alternative SSB transmission) to be transmitted by the first base station or the second base station as an alternative to the canceled at least one SSB. The UE may receive, based on the received message from the first base station or the second base station, the signal using the indicated resources.
