    Abstract: A plasticizing device includes: a flat screw that has a groove forming surface on which a spiral first groove is formed, and that rotates; a barrel that has a facing surface facing the groove forming surface and that includes a communication hole through which a plasticizing material flows; a heater that heats resin pellets; and a screw case that accommodates the flat screw and that includes a passage port through which the resin pellets pass toward the flat screw, in which the flat screw has a first side surface on which a first supply port for supplying the resin pellets to the first groove is formed and a second side surface formed on a side farther from the barrel than the first side surface, and a first distance, which is a shortest distance between the first side surface and the screw case, is larger than a second distance, which is a shortest distance between the second side surface and the screw case.

    Abstract: A mold assembly comprises a mold sidewall surrounding a mold cavity. A material inlet passageway, through which plasticized material may be introduced into the mold cavity, is formed in an inlet end wall of the mold. A sliding core is mounted within the mold and advanceable between a seated position covering the inlet passageway and a retracted position spaced away from the inlet passageway to allow plasticized material to flow into the mold cavity. An annular plunger is slidably mounted on the sliding core and within the mold sidewall for applying a downward force on plasticized material introduced into the mold cavity. Fiber reinforcing inserts may be inserted into the mold prior to filling it with plasticized material and a source of Nitrogen gas is connected to an extruder for purging ambient air from the plastic material in the extruder prior to injection into the mold cavity.

    Abstract: An adjustment method for a shut-off nozzle provided in an injection device, the shut-off nozzle including a nozzle portion having an injection flow path and a needle hole, a needle valve movably insertable into the needle hole, a cylinder component driving the needle valve, a bracket rotatably support the cylinder component at a rear end, and a fixing device fixing the bracket to a fixing member of the injection device, the adjustment method including: releasing the fixing device to allow the bracket to slide by a predetermined width relative to the fixing member, heating the injection device and the nozzle portion, driving the cylinder component to bring the needle valve to a most forward position and adjusting a slide position of the bracket, and fastening the fixing device to fix the bracket to the fixing member.
