Abstract: A fabric having a base layer with an inside and a face side. The base layer may be hydrophobic and/or omniphobic. The fabric also has a hydrophilic transport layer, a portion of which passes through one or more ducts in the side of the base layer for absorbing liquids. The inner portion may have a shape configured to better absorb and move liquids. The liquids are transported to the face side of the base layer. A covering layer may be disposed on the face side of the base layer such that the outer portion of the transport layer is between the base and covering layers. In some embodiments, an inner layer is disposed on the inside of the base layer such that the inner portion of the transport layer is between the inner layer and the base layer.

Abstract: The technology described herein relates to vented and insulating garments having an interior garment assembly comprising an interior panel and a middle panel attached at one or more seams defining chambers for retaining thermally-insulating fill material. The seams have a first plurality of openings extending through the interior and middle panels. An exterior garment assembly has a second plurality of openings positioned on the exterior garment assembly such that the second plurality of openings are offset from the first plurality of openings when the exterior garment assembly is worn with the interior garment assembly. The offsetting of the openings may achieve moisture vapor or air transfer from the inside of the garment to the outside environment. The exterior garment assembly and the interior garment assembly may be discrete garment pieces or may be attached at one or more locations.

Abstract: A fluid management system includes a sleeve member having a first end, a second end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface. A portion of the exterior surface of the sleeve member proximate the second end is in contact with a portion of an interior surface of the gown sleeve. There is a cuff member having a first end, a second end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface. The interior surface faces and is moveable with respect to portions of the exterior surface of the sleeve member/gown sleeve to enable the insertion of a cuff ring of the protective glove between interior surface of the cuff member and the exterior surface of one of the sleeve member/gown sleeve.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an article of apparel effective to regulate the temperature of the wearer. In an embodiment, the article of apparel includes a base textile with a thermal regulation membrane. The thermal regulation membrane contains a plurality of system-reactive components selectively engaged heat and/or moisture. In an embodiment, the printed coating includes a cooling agent, a phase change material, and a heat dissipation material. In operation, the article of apparel is effective to delay/diminish the rise in skin temperature (compared to a garment lacking the membrane), increasing wearer comfort.

Abstract: Described herein are sweat-diverting devices which can be adhered to a wearer by an adhesive. The sweat-diverting devices described here may be adhered over a portion of the face without circumscribing the head. Such sweat-diverting devices may comprise a first leg and a second leg that are joined at a base of the device to form a channel therebetween, where at least a portion of the base is more rigid than the first and second legs such that an acute angle between the first and second legs is maintained when the sweat-diverting device is applied on a wearer's forehead. In some variations, the thickness of the base is greater than the thickness of either of the legs, which may help to maintain a separation between the tips of the legs even when the sweat-diverting device is applied to a wearer's forehead.

Abstract: An article of apparel is formed that is effective to regulate the temperature of the wearer. In an embodiment, a thermal regulation composition is applied to a surface of a textile substrate at a first temperature and a first pressure to form a thermal regulation membrane disposed on the surface of the textile substrate. The textile substrate with the thermal regulation membrane is compressed at a second pressure and a second temperature to position a portion of the thermal regulation membrane below the surface of the textile substrate. The textile substrate is incorporated into an article of apparel. The thermal regulation composition can include one or more system reactive components provided within a binder, where a system reactive components can include a cooling agent, a latent heat agent and/or a heat dissipation agent.
