摘要： Method and article for providing a rapid, broad spectrum bacterial control, and a rapid and persistent antiviral control on an inanimate surface is disclosed. In the method, a compound or composition capable of lowering surface pH to less than about 4 is applied to the surface, and preferably is allowed to remain on the surface, and the nonvolatile components of the composition can form a barrier film or layer on a treated surface.

摘要： Described for the purpose of application to an inanimate laminar substantially solid surface is a substantially hydrocarbon-free functional substance-providing stick article having consistently-maintained functional composition integrity comprising a stiff, substantially monophasic, thermally-reversible hydrocarbon-free composition consisting essentially of a mixture of: (a) a structural support polymer containing an ester-terminated polyamide and/or at least one tertiary amide-terminated polyamide; (b) a high concentration of a system-compatible functional composition which is one or more of a perfume composition, an insect repellant composition, an animal repellant composition, an anti-microbial composition, an insect attractant composition and/or an air freshener composition; and (c) at least one compatible operativeness organic acid ester and/or metal salt additive which enables the stick, prior to, during and subsequent to application thereof to the inanimate laminar substantially solid surface, to have retained stiffness, pliability, durability, consistency, lack of tackiness, and a relatively high degree of glide, and to cause the inanimate laminar substantially solid surface to which the stick is applied to have a high degree of surface rinsability immediately subsequent to application of the stick. Also described is a package for conveniently handling and utilizing the stick article.

摘要： The present invention relates to pesticides. More particularly, the present invention relates to botanical pesticides. In particular, the present invention relates to compositions and methods for controlling plant-infesting pests with plant extracts and notably with compositions comprising oil extracts derived from Chenopodium sp. plant material. The invention further relates to compositions comprising such extracts as pesticidal compositions and providing the advantages of minimal development of resistance thereto, minimal toxicity to mammals, minimal residual activity and environmental compatibility. The pesticidal compositions of the present invention comprises α-terpinene, ρ-cymene, limonene, carvacrol, carveol, nerol, thymol, and carvone.

摘要： An apparatus for replacing an existing buried pipe of a crackable, fracturable material. The apparatus has a fracturing structure which applies an intense local pressure to crack and fracture the existing buried pipe into irregular fragments. This fracturing structure can include one or a plurality of blades, some of which may be retractably and expandably movable. The structure which exerts the intense local pressure is also operable to effect at least some outward movement of the fragments. An expansion structure moves the fragments radially outwardly, generally about the axis of the existing main, to provide a passage for a replacement tubular assembly. The apparatus is moveable through the existing main by the action of either a pushing or a pulling force, and the pushing force may be applied by percussive action.
