    摘要: A diagnostic engine for remotely analyzing a fault of a telecommunication line includes a first measurement module adapted to be coupled to a termination of the line and adapted to measure first line characteristics according to a Metallic Line Testing measurement technique; a fault detection module to detect, based upon the first line characteristics, a fault on the line and to trigger thereupon a determining module; and a showtime module to be coupled to the termination to determine whether the line is in showtime mode and to inform thereupon the determining module accordingly. The determining module is adapted to trigger, in the event when the line being in showtime mode, activation of a second measurement module. The second measurement module is adapted to be coupled to the termination and to measure second line characteristics according to a Dual Ended Line Testing measurement technique. A combining module is coupled to the first and the second measurement module and adapted to combine the measured first and second line characteristics of the line and to analyze therewith further features of the fault.

According to one embodiment, a cell may be established between a cellular base station and a wireless user equipment device on a frequency channel in an unlicensed frequency band. A cellular communication may be scheduled between the base station and the user equipment device. A Wi-Fi signal may be transmitted on the frequency channel in conjunction with the scheduled cellular communication. The Wi-Fi signal may indicate a length of the scheduled cellular communication using Wi-Fi signaling. The scheduled cellular communication may be performed via the cell.

Timestamping further allows customized data collection techniques, where a DSL line can be measured or monitored at intervals whose frequency depends on the line's stability. Moreover, data parameter read and control parameter write operations are presented in conjunction with the use of timestamping. Also, control and operation of a DSL system is enhanced by implementing bit-loading that minimizes, eliminates or otherwise mitigates the amount by which the SNR margin per tone exceeds a maximum SNR margin quantity, where such bit-loading can be selected through an appropriate interface.

    摘要: A system and method for identifying and forwarding traffic to/from Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) devices and feature servers without ambiguity includes a user-facing provider edge (u-PE) device that receives a customer frame from a DSLAM device, the customer frame being of a first format that includes a first Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) tag of a first bit length. The first VLAN tag identifies a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) subscriber. The customer frame is re-formatted by the u-PE device such that the first VLAN tag is mapped to a second VLAN tag of a second bit length greater than the first bit length, the second VLAN tag identifying a service instance of the Ethernet access network. The u-PE device encapsulating the customer frame inside a provider frame, with a provider source Media Access Control (MAC) address represents a MAC address associated with the DSLAM, and a provider destination MAC address represents a MAC address of a destination device.
