The source can be deployed in applications where it is desirable to have illumination biased laterally relative to the optical axis, such as in a street luminaire where directing light towards a street is beneficial. 摘要: An exemplary printable composition of a liquid or gel suspension of diodes generally includes a plurality of diodes, a first solvent and/or a viscosity modifier. An exemplary apparatus may include: a plurality of diodes; at least a trace amount of a first solvent; and a polymeric or resin film at least partially surrounding each diode of the plurality of diodes. Various exemplary diodes have a lateral dimension between about 10 to 50 microns and about 5 to 25 microns in height. Other embodiments may also include a plurality of substantially chemically inert particles having a range of sizes between about 10 to about 50 microns.

摘要: A lighting fixture employing a solid-state light source and an ambient light sensor is disclosed. The solid-state light source is placed within a light source housing and configured to emit light through a lens assembly that covers an opening into a mixing chamber provided within the light source housing. In one embodiment, the ambient light sensor is located within mixing chamber with the solid-state light source. In another embodiment, the ambient light sensor is located outside of the mixing chamber. In either embodiment, the ambient light sensor may be recessed within a waveguide, which aides in controlling the sensor distribution beam for the ambient light sensor. The sensor distribution beam essentially defines an area from which light reflected off of a task surface is accurately monitored via the ambient light sensor. The direction of the sensor distribution beam and the light emitted from the ambient light sensor may generally coincide.

摘要: A lighting device includes a light source, a reflector having an ellipsoidal reflection surface, an aspherical lens, and an exit pupil. The source is arranged at a first focal point of the reflection surface and a part of the emitted light is reflected from the reflection surface in the direction of a second focal point. The pupil is arranged offset with respect to the second focal point. The lens is arranged between the reflection surface and the pupil in a beam path with the reflected light and is shaped such that a first part of the reflected light passes through the lens with an aperture angle altered by not more than 5° in a central region and passes through the pupil and a second part of the reflected light penetrates through the lens in an outer region and is deflected by the lens and is consequently guided through the pupil.

摘要: A method and apparatus include attaching a lighted cup holder to a seating arrangement. The lighted cup holder includes a cup holder body and a light-producing light source, with the cup holder body being attached to the seating arrangement and having a cup receptacle therein, the light-producing source being disposed within the cup receptacle for illuminating the receptacle. A light-sensitive element operatively connected to the light source selectively controls production of light by the light source in such a manner that illumination of the cup holder is provided only under conditions where visibility is reduced to the point that it becomes difficult to locate the cup holder. The light-sensitive element is mounted on a master lighted cup holder and controls illumination of the master lighted cup holder and one or more slave lighted cup holders operatively connected to the master lighted cup holder.

The wireless lighting module can include a power source such as a battery, a solar cell, and the like as well as an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs). For example, the input can be obtained from a remote control, a sensor, a differing wireless lighting module, an radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, and so forth. The input can be utilized to switch one or more LEDs on or off, change the intensity or color of illumination, modulate illumination, alter the direction of illumination, etc.
