Abstract:
A process for the manufacturing of surface elements is provided herein. The surface elements can include a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. A supporting core with a desired format can be manufactured by press molding and provided with an upper side and a lower side. The upper side of the supporting core can be provided with a structure by a momentary pressing operation using a surface structured matrix. A ground coating can be provided on the structured upper side of the supporting core. A digitally printed decor comprising inks of at least four colors can be applied directly on top of the ground coating by an ink-jet type printer. The structure of the supporting core can enhance the realism of the decor, wherein the decor can be selected from the group consisting of woods and minerals.
Abstract:
A suspended ceiling comprises first and second rows of panels being connected to overhead structures and an intermediate row of panels interposed therebetween. Each panel comprises front and rear edges and lateral sides. The first lateral side of a given panel of the intermediate row is configured to be releasably mounted to the complementarily configured lateral side of an adjacent panel of the first row. The second lateral side of the given panel of the intermediate row is configured to be releasably mounted to the complementarily configured lateral side of an adjacent panel of the second row. The given panel of the intermediate row can be removed by being lifted away from the panels of the first and second rows.
Abstract:
Described herein is a multi-component panel comprising a ceiling panel and a sound attenuation layer, as well as a ceiling system that includes the multi-component panel.
Abstract:
A ceiling system includes a support structure configured to be installed in a ceiling area of a variety of room types. A ceiling supported by the support structure may cover the majority of the ceiling area and may include light sources to light the room. The ceiling may be defined entirely by panels extending continuously from one end of the ceiling to an opposite end of the ceiling, arranged side-by-side with troughs in between. The panels may themselves be the light sources. Alternatively or additionally light sourced may be disposed within the troughs.
Abstract:
A ceiling structure includes a suspended framework having a plurality of main runners and a plurality of cross runners interconnected to define an array of tile receiving openings and a plurality of ceiling tiles positioned within the array of tile receiving openings, each of the plurality of ceiling tiles having a plurality of magnets positioned at a peripheral portion thereof which are configured to magnetically couple the ceiling tile within a respective one of the tile receiving openings with the ceiling tile abutting a respective mounting frame. Related methods are also provided.
Abstract:
A structured-core laminate panel can be made in an efficient, structurally sound manner without the use of adhesives (film or liquid forms) using materials with different melt or glass transition temperatures. In one implementation, a manufacturer positions one or more resin substrates about a structured core, which comprises a relatively high melt or glass transition temperature compared with that of the one or more resin substrates. The manufacturer heats the assembly to at least the glass transition temperature of the resin substrates, but not to the melt or glass transition temperature of the structured core. This allows the one or more resin substrates to melt and bond (mechanically, chemically, or both) to the structured core on one side (or inner surface), while maintaining a substantially planar or original conformation on an opposing side (or outer surface).
Abstract:
This disclosure provides a device and a method to manage ceilings with stains caused by water condensation. The device is a pad having an insulation layer saturated with antimicrobial compound and a water proof membrane glued under the insulation layer. The pad can be cut to any size. The pad is laying freely on top of a drop ceiling panel and it may be replaced easily when needed.
Abstract:
An architectural structure having a curved surface that includes a plurality of folded boxes is provided. Each of the plurality of folded boxes comprising a front box portion and including a front subsurface joined with a plurality of first sides along a plurality of first folds. The curved surface is formed on at least one of the front subsurfaces of at least one of the plurality of folded boxes. The curved surface extends continuously across more than one of the plurality of folded boxes and includes at least one doubly-curved portion extending across at least one of the plurality of folded boxes.
Abstract:
A directable sound-absorbing panel comprising a sound-absorbing panel, a fixing member which can be fixed to said sound-absorbing panel, an arm and an articulated joint between said fixing member and said arm, is described. An assembly of directable sound-absorbing panels is also described, said assembly comprising a plurality of sound-absorbing panels, a corresponding plurality of fixing members, a corresponding plurality of arms, a corresponding plurality of articulated joints between each arm and each fixing member, and a fixing bar to which at least a part of said plurality of arms is fixed.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides complex curved structures and methods of making the same without requiring specially made frames or the like. These structures may include complex multi-axis, spherical, semi-spherical, twisted, or other like curves, for example. In this illustrative embodiment, individually sized boxes are stacked or assembled to form the structure.
