摘要： A jump rope having a rope section having two ends, and a connector attached to one end of the rope section, the connector having a hook section, a middle section connected at one end to the hook section, and a flange section integral with the other end of the middle section. An end cap is attached to another end of the rope section. The first handle has two open ends and a conical shape, one of the open ends having a smaller size fixedly connected to the end cap. The second handle has two open ends and a conical shape, one of the open ends having a smaller size configured to slide over the flange section of the connector and abut against the middle section of the connector allowing the connector to spin freely in the handle when the jump rope is in use and the connector is not connected to another jump rope. When the jump rope is connected to another jump rope, the second handle can be locked to the first handle so as not to be sliding around on the jump rope when the jump rope is in use.

The handle may be held with the crosspiece of the T situated between fingers and palm and with the vertical “stroke”, a.k.a. elongate portion, extending between two fingers. The crosspiece a.k.a. transverse portion of the handle is asymmetric, and thereby adapted to fit to a hand which is holding the handle with the vertical a.k.a. elongate portion passing between two fingers other than the second (index) and third (middle) fingers. This gives a more comfortable and effective skipping position, which allows the transverse portion of the handle to be in contact with all the fingers and/or the full width of the palm.

A second portion (2) is angled and has a swivel mounted rope (5) projecting from its end. When skipping, the hands can be held with the palms facing the skipper's thighs, but with the rope ends pointing outwards. This is a more comfortable skipping position than the customary one with the hands splayed outwards.

The hub can rotate a jumping element, such as a jump rope, about a horizontal axis and/or a vertical axis. The hub is connected to a motor. The jump rope is coupled to the hub by a crank arm. The crank arm automatically releases from the arm in response to a threshold force. The apparatus includes a deactivation element that deactivates the motor when the jumping element is released from the hub. The jump rope can be coupled to the hub by a strap that limits the movement of the rope when decoupled from the hub. Deactivating the motor terminates rotation of the hub to prevent further movement of the crank arm and rope.

The rotational electric connectors enable a constant power supply even at high-speed rotations and through severe motions of the jump rope. The two blinking connectors are endurable to long and continuous rotational motions from the jump rope.
