    摘要: A material feeder for dispensing batches of material which includes a refrigerated enclosure, a material feeder, a feeder drive arrangement, a scale and a controller. The feeder is housed within the refrigerated enclosure, and is removably coupled to the drive arrangement such that the complete feeder arrangement which is exposed to the material (e.g., foodstuffs such as shredded cheese) may be removed from the enclosure for cleaning at a location separate from the enclosure such as a dishwasher. The scale is connected to a container which catches the material dispensed by the feeder and produces a weight signal such is applied to the control unit. The control unit operates the drive unit which rotates a plurality of feed screws in the feeder at two speeds. In particular, the feed screws are driven at a first speed to dispense material at a high rate until a first weight of material is dispensed into the container, and a second speed is used to rotate the feed screws just prior to obtaining the desired weight in the container. This two speed arrangement prevents undesirably overshooting the desired weight for the material to be dispensed in the container. Upon reaching the set point weight, the drive unit is turned off by the control unit.

    摘要: A weighing apparatus having a plurality of removable ingredient retention and discharge hoppers supported on a frame, each hopper having an integral screw conveyor and each being removable for replacement by another hopper. The screw has a structure to inhibit discharge squirting. Dishcarge of the ingredients is through a sealed connection to a weighing hopper. This weighing hopper has an enclosure housing and is formed of a pair of flexible webs which extend downwardly and are shiftable between a closed retention condition with lower edges adjacent each other and an open discharge condition with the lower edges spaced from each other. These lower edges are secured to the inner edges of underlying pivotal support pans, such pans being pivotal to shift the webs and to engage the webs to invert them for assured full discharge of the contents.

    摘要: A calibration method for a volumetric metering and blending device which involves the use of a memory base to calculate and control the speed in which an auger dispenses each quantity of ingredient into a hopper. The method involves operatively connecting the memory base to each of a plurality of ingredient hoppers which include feed dispensing augers, with each ingredient hopper being in flow communication with a central weighing hopper. To pre-calibrate the desired speed for each auger necessary to dispense a premeasured quantity of feed into the central hopper, a premeasured quantity of feed is dispensed from each ingedient hopper into the central hopper with the number of turns of the auger being recorded in the memory base. This value is then converted into a revolutions per minute figure for each auger, and by regulating the speed of the feed dispensing augers, the correct ratio of ingredients is dispensed from each ingredient hopper into the central hopper for producing a feed mix.

    摘要: Food cans are slid across a vertically-oscillating weigh platform while being guided by contacting means bearing against their upstream side surfaces. The contacting means comprise a pair of rollers rotatable about an axis transverse to the direction of sliding motion of the cans, and bearing against the vertical side surfaces of the cans above the bottom bead of the can. This avoids the indentations formed in the lug contactors of the prior art after many contacts with the bead of the can, and thereby improves the weighing accuracy.

In order to facilitate flow of food products within the load and above a bottom wall of the receptacle, an agitator member having elongate parallel spaced-apart side elements joined by an end element adjacent a rear wall of the receptacle remote from the chamber opening is constrained to move upwards and downwards and towards and away from the chamber opening to exert a supporting and lifting action on the load of food products above said agitator member. When a predetermined weight of food products is reached, the weighing platform hinges downwardly to dispense a weighed portion of food products.
