The present invention concerns adhesive compositions that provide corrosion-preventative properties and improved adhesive bonding on corrodible surfaces, such as may be found in electronic components. These compositions provide the substrates with greatly increased resistance to corrosion, especially during long term exposure to high temperatures and/or high humidity. When used on conductive substrates, the compositions also maintain good initial and ongoing electrical conductivity.

Abstract:
A process for producing cured rubber is disclosed wherein the process comprises: A) mixing rubber, carbon black, and azodicarbonamide without other curative ingredients; B) adding the remaining curative ingredients in one or more subsequent mixing steps; and then C) curing the rubber; whereby a cured rubber having improved hysteresis is obtained. The cured rubber thus obtained is particularly useful in tires and tire treads.

The present invention relates to compositions based on elastomeric polymers of vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropene and optionally tetrafluoroethylene suitable for providing microcellular foamed vulcanized articles by extrusion or compression molding. In the case of the production of extruded articles based on vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropene copolymers, the compositions comprise: the copolymer, bisphenol AF, a quaternary phosphonium or aminophosphonium salt, azodicarbonamide, MgO, Ca(OH)2, zinc stearate and a plasticizer, each of the components being contained in an exactly defined proportion.

A method of forming a gel in a subsurface formation is provided whereby a monomer is polymerized in the formation in the presence of a crosslinker by an initiator selected from azo compounds which are temperature activated over a range of temperatures. The method is particularly useful to substantially terminate or at least decrease the flow of water from a subterranean formation into a wellbore penetrating the formation.

A process for producing the wood head of a golf club by impregnating a wood head workpiece with a resin to give durability to the wood head, the process comprising the steps of forming the workpiece so that the hitting surface thereof extends in parallel with internal channels therein, subsequently immersing the workpiece in a first liquid resin composition only at the hitting side to impregnate the hitting side with the composition at a high ratio and form a resin-impregnated layer of high impregnation ratio, thereafter impregnating the entire workpiece with a second liquid resin composition at a low ratio, and polymerizing and curing the compositions. Also disclosed is an apparatus for performing the resin impregnation steps.
