    摘要： A label is used to seal a package and provide an indication that an end edge of the package has been opened, while also allowing resealing of the package end edge. The label comprises a substrate with top and bottom faces and first and second parallel edges, with indicia (such as price per unit weight, weight, and total price indicia) imaged on the top face. A perforation generally bisects the substrate into generally equally-sized first and second portions, the perforation extending generally transverse to the first and second edges. On the bottom face of the first portion is permanent adhesive (e.g., pressure sensitive), while on the bottom face of the second portion is repositional adhesive. To open the package one tears along the perforation line to detach the second portion of the label from the package, and then tears the first label portion at the package end edge. To reseal the end edge, one places the second label portion over the end edge, the repositional adhesive holding it in place.

    摘要： A tear oriented package is provided and is formed of a pair of wall members sealed together about their peripheral edges when aligned with one another. In this manner a sealed chamber is formed therebetween for holding preselected items therein. At least one of the wall members is formed of foamed polypropylene material to facilitate the tearing of the one wall member to open the package in one predetermined direction while resisting the opening of the package in other directions due to the orientation of the foamed polypropylene material. The package can be made to be reclosable by placing a predetermined amount of cohesive material on a preselected portion of the package.

    摘要： Molten thermoplastic, such as polyethylene, and a hot melt adhesive are coextruded through a channel shaped profile die. While still molten, the channel shaped strip, having adhesive between the ribs thereof, is brought into contact with a moving web of a thermoplastic, e.g. polyethylene film, which is backed up by a roll at a controlled temperature. The temperature differential between the roll and the molten thermoplastic is maintained so that the thermoplastic adheres to the moving web upon contact and thereafter cools to set the thermoplastic in the channel shaped profile. The web is under tension so that contraction of the film upon release compensates for the contraction of the channel shaped strip as it cools.
