Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining a position of a camera affixed to a UAV in flight when the camera captures a digital aerial image. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods utilize real time kinematic satellite navigation techniques to identify a position of a UAV. Moreover, the disclosed systems and methods precisely determine the time that a camera captures a digital aerial image together with an attitude of the UAV at the time of capture to calculate a location of a camera at the time of capture. In one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods can utilize the determined position of the camera together with the captured digital aerial image to generate a three-dimensional representation of a site.

Abstract: Described are systems, methods, and computer readable medium for drone dispatch and operation. Exemplary embodiments provide a group of drones, a server in communication with the drones, and a detachable basket coupled to a shopping cart including an optical machine-readable label that represents identifying data for the basket. The identifying data for the basket is received from a client device at a server. The basket is associated with a user profile corresponding to the client device. Information identifying a vehicle associated with the user profile is determined. A checkout message is received indicating that a user of the client device completed a purchase transaction and requested a drone for transporting the basket. In response to the checkout message, identifying data for the basket is transmitted to a selected drone in the group of drones, and instructions to carry the basket to the vehicle are also transmitted to the selected drone.

Abstract: A vehicle-based airborne wind turbine system having an aerial wing, a plurality of rotors each having a plurality of rotatable blades positioned on the aerial wing, an electrically conductive tether secured to the aerial wing and secured to a ground station positioned on a vehicle, wherein the aerial wing is adapted to receive electrical power from the vehicle that is delivered to the aerial wing through the electrically conductive tether; wherein the aerial wing is adapted to operate in a flying mode to harness wind energy to provide a first pulling force through the tether to pull the vehicle; and wherein the aerial wing is also adapted to operate in a powered flying mode wherein the rotors may be powered so that the turbine blades serve as thrust-generating propellers to provide a second pulling force through the tether to pull the vehicle.

Abstract: Allocating agent resources in a contact center including receiving a new contact at the contact center and instantiating a contact object corresponding to the new contact. A first set of information is received by the contact center, and a first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is selected for deployment to a target destination. At least one characteristic of the first UAV is associated with the contact object; an additional set of information related to at least one of the contact object or the first UAV is received by the contact center during a travel period of the first UAV to the target destination; and a dynamic prediction is made regarding a particular agent of the contact center to connect to the contact object. The contact object is then connected to an agent device associated with the particular agent.

One of the methods includes enabling control of the UAV by a first control source that provides modular commands to the UAV, each modular command being a command associated with performance of one or more actions by the UAV. Modular commands from a second control source requesting control of the UAV are received. The second control source is determined to be in control of the UAV based on priority information associated with each control source. Control of the UAV is enabled by the second control source, and modular commands are implemented.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) copter for consumer photography or videography can be launched by a user throwing the UAV copter into mid-air. The UAV copter can detect that the UAV copter has been thrown upward while propeller drivers of the UAV copter are inert. In response to detecting that the UAV copter has been thrown upward, the UAV copter can compute power adjustments for propeller drivers of the UAV copter to have the UAV copter reach a predetermined elevation above an operator device. The UAV copter can then supply power to the propeller drivers in accordance with the computed power adjustments.
