摘要: Disclosed is a method of predicting shopping events. The method includes obtaining a first set of events from a sensor and a second set of events from a camera, wherein the camera captures one or more users in front of a shelf unit; determining whether a first timestamp from the obtained first set of events and a second timestamp from the obtained second set of events are within a same time interval; determining whether a first bin number matches a second bin number based on a determination that the first timestamp and the second timestamp are within the same time interval; and generating a shopping event for a user based on a determination that the first bin number matches the second bin number, wherein the user is associated with at least one of the obtained first set of events and the second set of events.

摘要: A terminal device, server, weighing scale, system and method for weighing an article are provided. The system (800) includes the terminal device (802), the server (804) and the weighing scale (806). These components communicate with each other to weigh an article placed on the weighing scale. The method of weighing the article includes receiving, at a terminal device, a selection of a container from a user for storing an article, retrieving a weight of the selected container from a first look-up table, wherein the first look-up table includes a container identifier and an associated container weight for one or more containers; prompting, by the terminal device, the user to place the container storing the article onto a weighing scale, the weighing scale being associated with a weighing scale identifier code; receiving the weighing scale identifier code of the weighing scale, inputted or scanned on the terminal device by the user; retrieving, at the server, the weight measurement value associated with the weighing scale identifier code from a second look-up table, the weight measurement value corresponding to the combined weight of the container and the article; and subsequently calculating the weight of the article from the difference between the weight of the container and the combined weight of container and the article.

摘要: A weigh platter assembly includes a weigh platter and a parallax based off-platter detection assembly having a light emission assembly, a light detection assembly, and a controller. The light emission assembly has a light source to emit a light beam along a lateral edge of the weigh platter. The light detection assembly detects at least a portion of the light beam reflected from an object extending across the light beam and includes a sensor offset from the light source and an aperture positioned in front of the sensor and configured to limit a field of view of the sensor along the lateral edge between proximal and distal edges of the weigh platter. The controller is configured to provide a first signal in response to a first value received from the sensor and to provide a second signal, different from the first signal, in response to a second value.

摘要: A bulk food weighing and processing system wherein a digital scale is uniquely configured and positioned to weigh and process individual portions of bulk food, uniquely designed and positioned to fit into a bulk food dispensing system. The system then prints a uniquely shaped and treated sticky, digitally-coded thermal-paper receipt which is used to seal a customer's portable container. The sticky receipt then aids customer checkout by providing digitally coded data about the food portion.In most embodiments, the digital scale is a strain gauge scale positioned between a gravity bin's hopper and its mounting bracket, such that it can detect and process a customer's individual food portion once dispensed. The food portion's weight measurement is then transmitted through a controller to a thermal printer which prints a digitally-coded “sticky bag tag” receipt, which both seals the customer's portable food container and which can be read at checkout to facilitate payment and inventory processes.
