    摘要: The present teachings provide a modular glenoid prosthesis for replacing a portion of the anatomy. The prosthesis can comprise a platform having a coupling portion, a base and a central bore that extends from the coupling portion through the base. The central bore can define a tapered region, and the coupling portion can include a plurality of bores. The prosthesis can include a glenoid component having a plurality of pegs. Each of the plurality of pegs can be coupled to a respective one of the plurality of bores. The prosthesis can include a glenosphere including a tapered stem couplable to the tapered region. The glenoid component and the glenosphere are selectively couplable to the platform for replacing the portion of the anatomy.

    摘要: An implant assembly for re-establishing a glenohumeral joint between scapula and humerus bones. A substantially spherical shaped element is adapted to being mounted a reconditioned glenoid cavity defined in the scapula and exhibits a second convex exterior surface projecting from the bone surface. A receiver component has a base with a first convex bone contacting surface adapted to being mounted to a reconditioned humeral head associated with the humerus, the receiver component exhibiting a second convex exterior surface projecting away from the bone surface and exposing a concave profile exhibiting only a rim edge therebetween at an outer exposed seating end of said second convex surface for supporting the components in inter-articulating fashion.

    摘要: A shoulder implant assembly including a humeral stem, a head, a cup, and a taper adaptor. The humeral stem is configured to be inserted into a humerus bone. The head includes a metal substrate having a coupling taper and a polymeric cover mounted to the metal substrate having a convex outer surface and a generally planar base. The cup has a concave surface configured to articulate with the polymeric cover of the head. The taper adaptor is configured to mate with the coupling taper of the head. The taper adaptor is configured to connect the head to the stem when the cup is connected to a glenoid. The taper adaptor is configured to connect the head to the glenoid when the cup is connected to the humeral stem.

    摘要: A reverse hip prosthesis comprising an acetabular cup for implanting in an acetabular socket. The acetabular cup is secured to the acetabular socket of the pelvis using fasteners. The acetabular cup has a stem extending from the center of a concave portion thereof and an acetabular ball is attached to the stem, preferably by means of a Morse taper. A femoral implant is provided with a femoral cup attached to the proximal end thereof. The femoral cup has a stem which can be constructed in a modular fashion with several stem lengths in order to accommodate the various sizing requirements of different patients. After implantation of the acetabular cup and ball and the femoral cup, the members are assembled together so that the femoral cup can articulate on the acetabular ball. The prosthesis of the invention has a wide range of motion and substantially improved tribology. As the femoral cup is articulated, the edge of the femoral cup moves into a space located between the acetabular cup and the acetabular ball and thereby becomes restrained, thus reducing the likelihood of dislocation during extreme ranges of motion.
