Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for receive beam selection for measuring a reference radio frequency (RF) signal. In an aspect, a first node determines a type of measurement to be performed on the reference RF signal, selects a receive beam based on the type of measurement to be performed on the reference RF signal, generates the selected receive beam, receives, from a second node, using the generated receive beam, the reference RF signal transmitted on a wireless channel, and performs one or more measurements on the received reference RF signal according to the type of the measurement to be performed.

Abstract: A two stage scrambling design is provided for generating and decoding Resource Spread Multiple Access (RSMA) modulated streams. A User equipment (UE) scrambles each data stream of a set of data streams using a first scrambling sequence to generate a first set of scrambled data streams, and then scrambles the first set of scrambled data streams using a second scrambling sequence to generate a second set of scrambled data streams, wherein the second scrambling sequence is longer than the first scrambling sequence. The UE then transmits the second set of scrambled data streams. A receiving base station determines the first and second scrambling sequences used by the UE and decodes the transmissions received from the UE based on the determined scrambling sequences.

Abstract: Various aspects provide a subframe for uplink (UL) communication in a frequency-division duplex (FDD) configuration. Control information in the frequency range of the UL communication may include channel quality indicator (CQI) and acknowledgement (ACK) information. The CQI information may be provided prior to a demodulation reference signal (DMRS). The ACK information may be provided subsequent to another DMRS. The CQI information may be time-division multiplexed in a common frequency range as the ACK information. A sounding reference signal (SRS) may be provided as an initial symbol of the subframe. Some CQI information may be provided in two or more separate portions that are each prior to a separate DMRS. Some ACK information may be provided in two or more separate portions that are each subsequent to another separate DMRS.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an improved encoder for reducing repetition in polar codewords. An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus includes at least one processor. The at least one processor is coupled with a memory. The at least one processor includes at least one encoder circuit configured to encode a set of information bits based on a cyclic redundancy check (CRC)-aided polar code to produce a codeword including polar encoded information bits and CRC bits. The apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit the codeword in accordance with a wireless technology across a channel via one or more antenna elements situated proximate the transmitter.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides self-decodable redundancy versions for a systematic code. An apparatus for wireless communications includes at least one processor coupled with a memory and comprising encoder circuitry configured to encode a set of information bits using a systematic code to generate an encoded bit stream with information bits and parity bits, and bit ordering circuitry configured to re-order bits in the encoded bit stream to distribute the information bits and the parity bits. The apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit the re-ordered bits in accordance with a radio technology via one or more antenna elements situated proximate the receiver.
