    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus and techniques that may be applied in systems for improving reliability of cell selection to ensure that a UE is capable of transmitting on the uplink in addition to receiving on the downlink upon mobility An exemplary method, performed by a user equipment (UE), generally includes receiving reference signals from one or more transmission reception points (TRPs) in a wireless communications network, pre-selecting, based on the received reference signals, a first TRP, of the one or more TRPs, from which to receive wireless service, transmitting an uplink (UL) signal to the first TRP, receiving, from the first TRP, feedback comprising information about the UL signal, and determining, based at least in part on the feedback, to select the first TRP from which to receive the wireless service.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A per-frequency indication providing deployment options for communication with a core network may be used for enhanced cell selection by a user equipment (UE). For example, system information transmitted by a base station may provide information elements that indicate, per radio frequency (or per radio frequency (RF) spectrum band)), deployment options associated with nearby cells. In such cases, the UE may determine whether to access the radio frequencies or RF bands of these cells based on the capabilities of the UE. In some cases, the UE may further determine whether the nearby cells are available based on the availability of a service through those cells. Accordingly, the UE may select one of the radio frequencies or bands corresponding to the cell having a network connectivity configuration that supports the UE's capabilities.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for wireless communication are described herein. In one aspect, a method may include establishing, by a first base station, a connection to a User Equipment (UE) and identifying a second base station to which the UE can also connect, determining whether dual connectivity of the UE to the base stations is permitted, and selecting, based on the determining, handing over the UE to the second base station or initiating dual connectivity for the UE. In another aspect, a method may include receiving a request for modifying bearers routed via a first gateway node for dual connectivity of a UE to a master base station and a secondary base station, determining that the modification requires bearers to relocate to a second gateway node, and rejecting the request or relocating all bearers associated with the UE to the second gateway node, based on the determining.

    Abstract: Mobile devices may receive page transmissions that include information related to a service for which the mobile device is being paged. The mobile device may be provided with a policy that describes a priority of radio access technologies (RATs) based on the type of service for which the mobile device is being paged. The mobile device, based at least in part on the service information, may access one or more of the wireless communications networks based on the identified service and/or based on the policy. A page transmission may include an indication of a RAT that is to be used for the page response and/or an index into the policy. A base station that transmits a page transmission may include an identifier of a particular network that is to be accessed in response to the page.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more particularly, to methods and apparatus for multicasting traffic using multi-connectivity. A wireless network can send a downlink (DL) packet, which follows one path from a core network entity to a user equipment (UE) under current standards, to multiple base stations (BSs) and from each of the base stations to a UE. The UE receives the DL packet from whichever BS first delivers the DL packet, and then the UE sends a report reporting receipt of the DL packet back to all of the BSs. BSs that receive a report indicating the UE received the packet can drop the packet, even if they have not yet successfully delivered the packet. The same procedure can be used for an UL packet, which can be sent from a UE to multiple BSs, and from the BSs to a core network entity.

A method of wireless communication at a transmitting wireless device includes generating a first Message Authentication Code (MAC) for a data packet based at least in part on a first security key used to communicate with a receiving wireless device; generating a second MAC for the data packet based at least in part on a second security key used to communicate with a relay user equipment (UE), in which the relay UE is included in a data routing path between the transmitting wireless device and the receiving wireless device; and transmitting the data packet to the relay UE with at least the first MAC and the second MAC.
