Abstract: Described are mechanisms and methods for supporting Channel State Information (CSI) measurement and reporting, and for supporting Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurement and reporting, under License Assisted Access (LAA) with dynamic power sharing. An eNB may comprise one or more processors to generate a maximum number of Component Carriers (CCs) and a number of active CCs to a UE. The eNB may then be operable to process a reported quality rating from the UE and generate a scaled quality rating based upon the reported quality rating, the maximum number of CCs, and the number of active CCs. A UE may comprise one or more processors to process a reference signal transmission from an eNB, to generate an unfiltered reference signal transmission based upon the reference signal transmission, and to calculate a quality rating based upon the unfiltered reference signal transmission.

Abstract: An eNodeB (eNB), user equipment (UE) and method for operating in enhanced coverage (EC) modes are generally described. The UE may receive one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals, dependent on whether the UE is in a normal coverage mode or in one of the EC modes. The PBCH signal may be combined to form a combined PBCH signal, when the UE is in an EC mode, and decoded to determine one of a plurality of sets of resource regions associated different EC modes for communication with the eNB. The signal may be scrambled using a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) dependent on at least one of a signal type of the control signal and the EC mode. Paging and the system information block (SIB) signals in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) may be decoded without decoding a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal associated with the PDSCH.

Abstract: Devices and methods of reducing overall Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) of user equipment (UE) using a large amount of carrier aggregation are generally described. The UE may receive a subframe from an enhanced NodeB (eNB). The subframe may contain a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) formed in accordance with a Downlink Control information (DCI) format. The DCI format may comprise a Downlink Assignment Index (DAI) for Time Division Duplexed (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplexed (FDD) operation. The UE may determine, dependent on the DAI, a number and ordering of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) bits to be transmitted on a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) and subsequently transmit the HARQ-ACK bits.

In some embodiments, a UE communicates a timing field with a UE capability communication indicating whether the UE meets timing requirements to avoid uncertainty in ePHR communications.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes a transmission mode component, a selection component, and a transmission component. The transmission mode component is configured to selectively allocate resources for device-to-device communication according to a plurality of transmission modes. The plurality of transmission modes include a first transmission mode in which the resources used by the UE are specifically allocated by one of a base station or relay node and a second transmission mode in which the UE selects the resources from a pool of available resources. The selection component is configured to select a selected transmission mode. The transmission component is configured to transmit signals in frequency resources selected according to the selected transmission mode.

Abstract: A technology is disclosed for an evolved Node B (eNB). The eNB can determine a set of configuration indication fields numbered 1 to N, included in a downlink control information (DCI) format Y carried on the PDCCH, where N = ⌊ L format Y M ⌋ , Lformat Y is equal to a payload size of the DCI format Y, and M is a number of bits of each indication field. The eNB can map the DCI format Y onto the PDCCH. The eNB can encode for transmission from to the UE the PDCCH with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by an enhanced interference mitigation and traffic adaptation (eIMTA) Radio-Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) for the UE.
