Abstract: This document describes methods, devices, systems, and means for determining a joint-codebook for wireless communication with a user equipment, UE, by a base station in an active coordination set, ACS, in which a base station receives capability information from one or more other base stations in the ACS. The base station generates a joint-codebook for the ACS based on the received capability information and sends the joint-codebook to the one or more other base stations in the ACS. The base station and the other base stations in the ACS jointly-transmit the joint-codebook to the UE and receive Precoding Matrix Indicator, PMI, feedback from the UE. The base station and the other base stations in the ACS jointly-process downlink data for the UE using the PMI feedback and the joint-codebook and jointly-transmit the downlink data to the UE.

Abstract: A computing device is described for performing local interference avoidance, when supporting concurrent voice and data transmissions, and with access to multiple radios. The computing device predicts when coexistence issues will occur from maintaining independent voice and data transmissions using separate radios. To avoid local interference issues, the computing device automatically switches to operating a different combination of radios, making local interference less likely to occur. In some cases, the computing device may consolidate the voice and non-voice data exchanges to occur using a single radio. In some cases, rather than consolidation, the computing device may move the voice or the non-voice data exchange to a different radio as a way to avoid the local interference.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for resource block-level index modulation. In aspects, a wireless transmitter modulates a first portion of data for a wireless receiver to provide modulation symbols that correspond to the first portion of the data. The wireless transmitter also selects, based on a value of a second portion of the data, respective index locations for one or more resource blocks by which to transmit the modulation symbols. The wireless transmitter then transmits the modulation symbols to the wireless receiver using the one or more resource blocks having the respective index locations to convey the first portion of the data and the second portion of the data to the wireless receiver. By so doing, the wireless transmitter conveys the second portion of the data without using additional time-frequency resources of a communication channel, which can be useful when concurrently transmitting small amounts of data to many wireless receivers.

Abstract: A user-equipment-coordination set in a cellular network includes multiple UEs for performing coordinated radar sensing. A first UE determines a configuration to coordinate other UEs to detect an object. The first UE uses the configuration to configure a second UE to transmit a first radar signal and a third UE to detect the first radar signal. The first UE receives first radar signal samples from the third UE based on the third UE receiving the first radar signal in multiple reflection states. The first UE filters the first radar signal samples to remove samples associated with interference from the first radar signal received in a first reflection state. The first UE determines object location information based on at least the filtered first radar signal samples.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for adaptive phase-changing device sharing and handover. In aspects, a second base station shares an adaptive phase-changing device (APD), with a first base station. The second base station determines to use an APD in a communication path for a second wireless link with a second user equipment. The second base station identifies a first base station using the APD in a communication path for a first wireless link with a first UE. Based on identifying the first base station using the APD, the second base station obtains apportioned access to the APD and configures a surface of the APD based on the apportioned access. The second base station uses the APD in a communication path for the second wireless link with the second UE based on the apportioned access.

Abstract: Methods, devices, systems, and means for coordinating full-duplex communication are described in which a user equipment, UE, configured as a coordinating user equipment for a user equipment-coordination set, UECS, selects a first subset of UEs in the UECS to jointly receive downlink signals and selects a second subset of UEs in the UECS to jointly transmit uplink signals. The coordinating UE receives uplink data to transmit to the network entity and receives, from the first subset of UEs, demodulated and sampled downlink data that is received concurrently with joint-transmission of the uplink data. The coordinating UE combines the samples received from each UE in the first subset of UEs and jointly processes the combined samples to provide decoded data using the received uplink data to cancel crosstalk of uplink signals for the transmitted uplink data to downlink signals to the received downlink data.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques and systems for beam search pilots for paging channel communications. In some aspects, a user device receives, from a base station of a wireless network, a beam search pilot on a beam. The user device determines that a signal quality of the beam search pilot meets a signal quality threshold. Based on this determination, the user device transmits, to the base station, an indication that the beam search pilot meets the signal quality threshold. The user device then receives a paging channel communication on the beam provided by the base station.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for beamforming for communication over preferred resources of a wireless network. A user device receives a signal from a plurality of antenna arrays of one or more base stations. The signal is transmitted, by the base stations, over a set of dedicated communication resources of a wireless network. Each of the base stations may dedicate a same set of resource elements for narrow-band communication with user devices outside of a standard range of a single antenna array. The user device determines a quality of the signal received over the dedicated communication resources and generates an index to identify preferred resources for communicating with the one or more base stations. The user device then communicates the index to the base stations to enable the base stations to establish a narrow-band wireless connection with the user device.
