Abstract: In one embodiment, a device in a wireless network receives telemetry data from a plurality of autonomous vehicles. The telemetry data is indicative of radio signal quality metrics experienced by the vehicles at a particular location over time. The device forms an array of wireless roaming thresholds by applying regression to the telemetry data. The device computes an optimum roaming threshold from the array of wireless roaming thresholds to be used by the vehicles when approaching the location. The device triggers, based on the computed optimum threshold, one or more of the autonomous vehicles to initiate access point roaming when approaching the particular location.

Abstract: Aspects herein generally relate to a system and/or a method for enforcing synchronization of WiFi users interacting with a common hierarchical multi-element VR/AR scene. The aspects can use Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) and trigger frames to synchronize parallel updates to different scene elements. Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) can be used to analyze standard VR/AR streaming formats to identify those VR scene elements that are to be synchronized. The result is a more immersive AR/VR experience for the users, who receive the same scene elements at the same time.

Abstract: A method performed by a system which manages station transition from a Wi-Fi access point includes sending, based on the station roaming to an edge-of-domain access point, a request to neighboring access points to the edge-of-domain access point for neighbor reports. The method includes receiving a cellular signal value from the station, comparing a first signal grade associated with the edge-of-domain access point to a second signal grade associated with the cellular signal value to yield a comparison and generating a link usability rating associated with a link between the station and the edge-of-domain access point. Based at least in part on the comparison and the link usability rating, the method includes transmitting a message to the station suggesting that the station roam from the edge-of-domain access point to a cellular network. An edge of the domain can also be dynamic and vary based on station characteristics.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining performance characterization values from endpoints managed by a first fog node at a first hierarchical level in a hierarchy of fog nodes. The method includes changing a first operating characteristic of the wireless network based on the performance characterization values. The first operating characteristic affects the operation of one or more of the endpoints. The method includes transmitting a portion of the performance characterization values to a second fog node at a second hierarchical level in the hierarchy of fog nodes. The method includes changing a second operating characteristic of the wireless network based on an instruction from the second fog node. The second operating characteristic affects the operation of the first fog node and/or other fog nodes at the first hierarchical level. Changing one or more of the first operating characteristic and the second operating characteristic satisfies an operating threshold for the wireless network.

Abstract: A method includes transmitting a message to a first end point that includes an instruction to initiate a communication type in which the communication type includes sharing a randomization token between the first and a second end point. The method further includes obtaining a first communication report from the first end point and a second communication report from the second end point in response to initialization of a communication based on the communication type in which the first and second communication reports respectively include a first and second hash that corresponds to a function of the randomization token and identity information. The method further includes determining whether the first hash matches the second hash and generating a value that correlates the first and second end points with the communication across the network in response to determining that the first hash matches the second hash.

The method further comprises transmitting the encapsulated cellular traffic and the encapsulated WLAN traffic to a controller.

Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a process for metered training of fog nodes within the fog layer. The metered training allows the fog nodes to be continually trained within the fog layer without the need for the cloud. Furthermore, the metered training allows the fog node to operate normally as the training is performed only when spare resources are available at the fog node. The disclosed technology also relates to a process of sharing better trained machine learning models of a fog node with other similar fog nodes thereby speeding up the training process for other fog nodes within the fog layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure is related to dynamic methods of managing roaming of client devices at boundaries of area serviced by access points. In one aspect, a method includes estimating by a controller, first signal information of a signal transmitted by an access point and received at a client device, the first signal information being from the perspective of the access point, the client device operating at a boundary of an area serviced by the access point; determining, by the controller, second signal information for the signal, the second signal information being from the perspective of the client device; and performing, by the controller, roaming management of the client device based on the first signal information and the second signal information.
