Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable media for enhancements to 5G Access Transport Steering Switching & Splitting (ATSSS) rules. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, at a network controller, a request for a Multi-Access Protocol Data Unit (MA-PDU) session from a user device, the request including a “Multi access multi PLMN” flag for requesting multiple Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) sessions; generating, at the network controller, an access transport steering switching and splitting (ATSSS) rule for steering traffic associated with the user device between at least two PLMNs once the multiple PLMN sessions are established between the user device and the at least two PLMNs; and sending the steering rule to the user device to be used for splitting uplink network traffic transmitted between the user device and the at least two PLMNs.

Abstract: A system and method for dynamic enablement of a RLC mode of a Data Radio Bearer (DRB) based on UE radiofrequency (RF) conditions. A threshold value for a network characteristic is provided to a gNodeB. Changes in the network characteristic correlates to changes in RF channel conditions of the UE. The trigger configures the gNodeB to identify when the network characteristic meets the threshold value for selectively controlling operation of the gNodeB at one of a plurality of different operation modes including an initial radio link control (RLC) mode based on the network characteristic. A Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session is established with the gNodeB operating in an initial RLC mode with the possibility to dynamically switch to a different RLC mode based on RF channel conditions.

Abstract: In one illustrative example, a unified data management (UDM) of a mobile network is established in a UDM set with a plurality of private network UDMs instances of a plurality of private mobile networks. The UDM of the mobile network provides access to a plurality of subscription profiles associated with a plurality of subscribers of the mobile network, and each private network UDM instance provides access to a subset of the subscription profiles associated with a subset of the subscribers in the private mobile network. The UDM of the mobile network operates to communicate, in an authentication procedure, authentication data for authentication of a user equipment (UE) in the mobile network. After the authentication of the UE in the mobile network, the UDM operates to push authentication status information of the UE to the private network UDM instance of the private mobile network.

Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate delivering standalone non-public network (SNPN) credentials from an enterprise authentication server to a user equipment (UE) using an Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) process. In one example, a method may include determining, by an authentication server of an enterprise, that a UE for the enterprise is to receive credentials to enable the UE to connect to a SNPN of the enterprise in which the determining is performed based, at least in part, on connection of the UE to an access network that is different than the SNPN for the enterprise; and performing an authentication process with the UE by the authentication server in which the authentication process includes providing the credentials to the UE via a first authentication message and obtaining confirmation from the UE via a second authentication message that indicates successful provisioning of the credentials for the UE.

Abstract: A first access and mobility management function (AMF) in a network receives, from user equipment (UE), a registration request listing a first network slice and a second network slice. Upon determining that the first AMF supports the first, but not the second, network slice, the first AMF causes selection of (i) the first AMF as a session and mobility management (SM)-AMF to perform mobility management, and first session management signaling for the first network slice; and (ii) a second AMF as a session management only (SO)-AMF to perform only second session management signaling for the second network slice. The first AMF, acting as SM-AMF, performs the first session management signaling for a first data session on the first network slice, while the second AMF, acting as SO-AMF, performs only the second session management signaling for a second data session on the second network slice.

Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to provide data session continuity for parallel data sessions involving a multiple Universal Subscriber Identity Module (MUSIM) user equipment (UE). In one example, a method may include obtaining an indication that session continuity for a first session associated with a first data network and a first USIM of a UE is allowed with respect to a second USIM in which the UE communicates first traffic for the first session via the first USIM. The method may further include determining that second traffic for a second session is to be communicated via the second USIM of the UE and, based on the indication that session continuity for the first session is allowed with respect to the second USIM, providing service information to the UE for the first session to enable the UE to communicate both the first traffic and the second traffic via the second USIM.

Abstract: In one example, an Access Point (AP) configures a first mapping of a first cellular network connection to a first local access network group, and further configures a second mapping of a second cellular network connection to a second local access network group. The AP determines whether a user device is authorized to use the first cellular network connection or the second cellular network connection. Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access prioritization to a private Long Term Evolution (LTE) network operating in a Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum include receiving, at a network device of the private Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, a functional group associated with a user equipment (UE) and a traffic load of a cell of the private LTE network associated with the UE. An access priority associated with the functional group and the traffic load is determined and provided to a CBRS access point (AP) which controls access to the cell. The access priority indicates to the CBRS AP a priority with which the UE is allowed to access the cell and can include a high priority, a low priority, or no access indication.
