Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a display panel and a display device. The display panel includes: a beam splitting member disposed between a light extracting member and a liquid crystal layer, for splitting the light extracted from the light extracting member into linearly polarized lights with polarization directions perpendicular to each other; and a modulating member disposed on a side of the beam splitting member away from the light extracting member, for modulating the linearly polarized light that is incident from the beam splitting member into the liquid crystal layer.

Abstract: A backlight module is provided. The backlight module includes a light guide plate; a plurality of reflective gratings on a first side of the light guide plate; and a plurality of reflectors on a second side of the light guide plate. A respective one of the plurality of reflective gratings is configured to diffract and reflect a portion of light totally reflected in the light guide plate into diffracted light transmitting across the light guide plate from the first side toward the second side. A portion of the diffracted light has a respective wavelength range to be received by a respective reflector. The respective one of the plurality of reflectors is configured to reflect the portion of the diffracted light having the respective wavelength range transmitting from the second side toward the first side to a position between the respective grating and an adjacent reflective grating.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display panel and a display device. The display panel includes a base substrate and light-shielding strips. The base substrate includes light-shielding regions and light-transmitting regions. The display panel further includes a backlight module including a light guide plate and light extraction gratings. The display panel further includes a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and a liquid crystal layer. The first and second electrode layers are configured to, in response to a control signal, control the liquid crystal layer to forms a plurality of liquid crystal grating periods. The liquid crystal within each of the plurality of liquid crystal grating periods includes a plurality of segments with different refractive indices, and the refractive indices of the plurality of segments progressively increase in a direction perpendicular to an extending direction of the first electrodes in the first electrode layer.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a light source assembly and a display device, and the light source assembly includes: a first substrate and a second substrate arranged opposite to each other; a waveguide layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a side-incident collimated light source arranged on a side of the waveguide layer, wherein the refractive index of the waveguide layer is higher than the refractive index of the first substrate, and the refractive index of the second substrate respectively; and light of the side-incident collimated light source is incident onto the side of the waveguide layer at a preset angle, and the incident light is totally reflected at the interference between the first substrate and the waveguide layer. In the embodiments of this disclosure, the light of the side-incident collimated light source is reflected totally at the interface between the waveguide layer and the first substrate under the principle of total reflection, and refracted at the interface between the waveguide layer and the second substrate, that is, the light is radiated from the surface of the second substrate, thus improving the efficiency of the light exiting from the single side of the light source assembly.
