    摘要: According to certain general aspects, the present invention provides a wireless networking scheme that adaptively modifies the transmitted signal bandwidth to avoid interference from or to other devices or systems (e.g., 802.11p) and to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., DFS). In embodiments, if a transmitter according to the invention is operating in a channel with high bandwidth, and if interference is detected or needs to be avoided on a non-primary portion of the occupied bandwidth, the transmitter adaptively reduces the portion of the bandwidth used for transmission to minimize interference. This allows the transmitter to reduce interference or meet compliance requirements without significantly compromising throughput.

    摘要: There is disclosed a receiver and associated methods in which a received signal can be sampled at the symbol rate rather than oversampled. This reduction in the sampling frequency compared with conventional receivers lowers power consumption. Quality metrics in receiving the data (e.g. packet error rate, etc) are not adversely affected by setting a programmable phase shift in the sampling frequency. The programmable shift can be selected through a calibration process using a known sequence of symbols, such as the short training field in 802.11 standards.

    摘要: A satellite positioning subsystem includes a frequency converter that applies a downshift in frequency to a received signal that should contain a satellite signal that has been spread and modulated on a carrier signal. A non-crystal oscillator produces an output signal whose frequency acts as a controlling reference for the frequency converter. A crystal oscillator is coupled to a controller that develops a control signal for controlling the frequency of the output signal of the non-crystal oscillator. A processor intermittently corrects the crystal oscillator such that its output frequency experiences jumps. A filter filters the control signal to limit the rate of change of frequency that the control signal demands of the output signal of the non-crystal oscillator such that a phase rotation of π cannot occur in the output signal of the non-crystal oscillator in the time that would be taken to despread a sample of the satellite signal.
