A second layer receives the polarized light and shifts the first orientation of the polarized light to a second orientation that is different than the first orientation. A surface receives the polarized light from the second layer and at least partially reflects the polarized light in a direction toward the second layer. The second layer shifts the second orientation of the polarized light to a third orientation that is different from the polarizing orientation of the first layer to prevent the polarized light from being transmitted to a vehicle occupant.

    摘要: A throttle body for an air intake system of an internal combustion engine, which includes a combustion chamber. The throttle body includes a body, a throttle plate and a coating. The body defines a throat through which air flows to the combustion chamber. The throttle plate, which is pivotally mounted with respect to the body, moves between first and second configurations with respect to the throat. The first configuration of the throttle plate substantially prohibits the air flow through the throat, and the second configuration of the throttle plate permits air flow through the throat. The coating, which is on at least one of the throat and the throttle plate, sheds contaminants that extend between the body and the throttle plate in the first configuration of the throttle plate.

    摘要: A permanent magnet DC motor 10 having electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression includes a metal motor housing 12 and a brush card assembly 34. The brush card assembly includes brushes 20 and leads 24 constructed and arranged to be coupled with a source of power to power the motor. A brush card housing 14 has a first portion 18 housing the brushes and a second portion 22, integral with the first portion, and housing the leads. A printed circuit board 26 is mounted with respect to the second portion of the housing and carries at least one electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression component 30 constructed and arranged to suppress EMI generated by the motor. The leads are electrically connected to the printed circuit board so that current can be provided through the printed circuit board to the brushes. A contact member 40 is electrically connected between the printed circuit board and the metal motor housing so that the at least one EMI suppression component couples the brushes to the metal motor housing thereby causing the metal motor housing to become an AC ground and EMI shield.

The canister purge valve includes a body having a passage extending between a first port and a second port, a seat defining a portion of the passage, a member movable with respect to the seat, and an actuator that moves the member. The first port of the body is adapted to be in fluid communication with the fuel vapor collection canister, and the second port of the body is adapted to be in fluid communication with the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. The member moves generally along an axis between a first configuration that prohibits fuel vapor flow through the seat and a second configuration that permits fuel vapor flow through the seat. And the actuator includes a piezo-electric element that moves the member from the first configuration to the second configuration.

    摘要: A fuel injector includes a housing, a passageway, a coil assembly, a seat, and a closure member. The housing extends along a longitudinal axis between an inlet and an outlet, and fuel flows through the passageway from the inlet to the outlet. The coil assembly is disposed proximate the inlet of the housing, and the seat is disposed proximate the outlet of the housing. The closure member is disposed in the housing and is movable along the longitudinal axis between a first position, which prohibits fuel flow, and a second position, which permits fuel flow. The closure member includes a magnetic member, a needle, and a tubular member. The magnetic member is adapted to cooperate with the coil assembly to move the closure member from the first position to the second position. The needle member occludes the seat in the first position of the closure member. The tubular member couples the magnetic member to the needle member, and defines a portion of the passageway. The tubular member extends between a first end, which defines a first opening, and second end, which defines a second opening. A portion of the first opening is aligned with the second opening such that fuel flow between the first and second openings is along a flow path that is parallel to the longitudinal axis.
