摘要： A lateral suspension assembly for a guided vehicle system includes a pair of lateral wheel housings each including a lateral wheel rotatable about spaced vertical axes for engaging spaced opposing guide rails of the guided system; a lateral limit link for limiting outward travel of the lateral wheels beyond a predetermined limit; a pair of spaced support arms pivotably attached at one end to the guided vehicle and at the other to the lateral wheel housings; and a biasing device interconnected with each of the wheel housings for urging the lateral wheels in contact with the guide rails.

摘要： An electrically powered vehicle transportation system utilizes a guideway with parallel enclosed rails. Each enclosed rail has an electrical bus bar for supplying power to vehicles on the guideway. The guideway will accommodate dual-mode vehicles that are capable of usage on conventional streets as well as on the guideway. The guideway also accommodates conventional vehicles and ferries that operate only on the guideway. The dual-mode vehicle has a body with axles that are extensible. The axles move from a retracted position, with the wheels recessed within the wheel wells, to an extended position. In the extended position, the wheels locate within the enclosed rails. Conventional vehicles and freight are carried on ferries that move along the guideways.

摘要： A de-railed railroad car is replaced onto a track by removing a knuckle from a coupler of the derailed railroad car and replacing it with an adapter member. The adapter member is attached to the coupler by the same pivot pin that held the knuckle. By then raising the adapter, the wheels of the de-railed railroad car can be lifted. By then moving the adapter horizontally, the wheels can be placed over the track, so that when the adapter is subsequently lowered, the wheels will be placed onto the track.
