摘要: Fluid storage and dispensing systems and processes involving various structures methods for fluid storage and dispensing, including, pre-connect verification couplings that are usefully employed with fluid storage and dispensing packages to ensure proper coupling and avoid fluid contamination issues, empty detect systems (e.g., monitoring pressure of dispensed liquid medium to detect pressure droop conditions) useable with fluid storage and dispensing packages incorporating liners that are pressure-compressed in the fluid dispensing operation, ergonomically enhanced structures for facilitating removal of a dispense connector from a capped vessel, cap integrity assurance systems for preventing misuse of vessel caps, and keycoding systems for ensuring coupling of proper dispense assemblies and vessels. Fluid storage and dispensing systems achieve zero or near-zero headspace character, and prevent or ameliorate solubilization effects in liquid dispensing from liners in overpack vessels.

摘要: A fueling environment having a vent on an underground fuel storage tank may be improved by adding a mass flow meter in conjunction with a vapor recovery membrane in a tank vent. The mass flow meter measures an amount of vapor that passes through the vent and thus allows alarms to be generated if the vapors passing through the vent exceed a predetermined level or an efficiency of the membrane drops below a predetermined threshold. Measurements from the mass flow meter may be provided to a site controller or a remote location for further analysis.

摘要: A diagnostic fuel storage system is provided and includes a pressure sensor configured to monitor pressure at one or more diagnostic points within the system. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a diagnostic fuel storage system is provided comprising at least one storage tank, a filter system, at least one pump, and at least one pressure sensor. The storage tank includes a fuel vapor vent port. The filter system comprises a filter input port coupled to the fuel vapor vent port. The pump is positioned to cause fuel vapor to pass through the filter input port. The storage tank, the filter system, and the pump are arranged such that the storage tank and selected fuel vapor ducts in communication with the storage tank operate below atmospheric pressure. The pressure sensor is configured to monitor pressure at one or more diagnostic points within the storage tank, the selected fuel vapor ducts, and combinations thereof. In this manner, the pressure sensor is operative to provide an indication of operation above atmospheric pressure. According to another embodiment of the present invention, a diagnostic fuel storage system is provided comprising a plurality of fuel storage systems, a central data processor, and a communications link coupling the central data processor to each of the fuel storage systems. The central data processor is configured to process pressure data sensed by the pressure sensors.

摘要: An apparatus (1) for use with a container (100) for storing a substance. Typically, the substance is a volatile liquid, such as hydrocarbon fuels, alcohol or distilled liquids. The apparatus (1) acts to prevent filling and evaporative losses of the liquid, minimise internal corrosion of the container (100) and prevent humidification of the liquid. The apparatus (1) employs a bladder (3a, 3b) inside the container (100). The bladder (3a, 3b) is filled with air. A pressure control unit (7) is provided to control the supply of air to the bladder (3a, 3b) such that the pressure in the bladder (3a, 3b) is maintained at or above a selected level, being the vapour pressure inside the container (100). The bladder (3a, 3b) is maintained in an inflated condition such that it fills the space above the substance in the container (100).

摘要: Two forms of device are described for preventing unintentional removal of the contents of mobile tanks before unlocking the vent caps thereof. In one form, a guard unit is provided which is movable between positions permitting or interfering with attachment of a drain conduit to the drain opening. A guard unlocking linkage is provided which includes portions movable between first and second positions respectively, with the vent opening cover being required to be opened before the unlocking linkage can be moved to the second position. When the cover is open and the unlocking linkage can be moved, the guard unit is moved to the position permitting attachment of the drain conduit. In another form, a locking plate is provided on the vent cover and a notch on the plate registers with a locking device connected to a first hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly. A second piston and cylinder assembly is hydraulically connected to the first assembly, and a guard plate permitting valve opening cannot be moved unless the vent cover is opened and the locking device engages the plate.
