摘要: Implementations provide cold spray additive manufacturing (“CSAM”) with gas recovery in situ in an open environment without requiring part disassembly and removal to a repair facility. Recapturing and reusing gas in an open environment reduces costs, rendering CSAM more commercially viable and efficient, and avoids risk of new damage to parts from contemporary pre-existing CSAM processes. A gas recovery nozzle attaches to a supersonic nozzle and sends used gas to a gas recovery sub-system by capturing gas that is deflected on impact with the part during CSAM. Captured gas is stored for reuse. A flexible coupling controls distance from the gas recovery nozzle to a part substrate to prevent (1) nozzle clogging; (2) stationary shock wave interference with gas flow; and (3) gas flow misdirection. The gas recovery nozzle also suppresses disruptive supersonic sounds. Implementations enable capture for later reuse of supersonically-propelled gas during in-situ CSAM in open environments.

The assembly comprises at least one first printing system comprising a transfer member having opposite front and rear sides with an imaging surface on the front side, a coating station at which a monolayer of thermoplastic particles is applied to the imaging surface, an imaging station at which energy is applied by a thermal print head, optionally via the rear side of the transfer member, to selected regions of the imaging surface to render particles coating the selected regions tacky, a transfer station at which the imaging surface of the transfer member and the substrate surface are pressed against each other to transfer to the substrate the particles that have been rendered tacky to form an adhesive image; and at least one more printing system downstream from the first system.

摘要: An over spray gun assembly that prevents over spraying of atomized paint or vanish particles and droplets into the air and onto unwanted surfaces during a spraying operation, such as painting or staining a surface. More specifically, the over spray guard includes first shroud and a second shroud, wherein the second shroud is positioned within the first shroud thereby defining an open interior space for vacuuming unwanted or over sprayed airborne fluid droplets dispensed from a nozzle of the spray gun. In addition, an elongated sleeve or extension can be connected to the first shroud, thereby allowing a user to comfortably support, hold, position, and aim the over spray gun assembly.

A wand is fluidly coupled with the hub and has a fist portion extending radially from the hub, and a second portion extending parallel to the sidewall and including an opening configured to direct a volume of cleaning fluid and gas onto threads of the threaded pipe. A handle is associated with the rotating stem and configured to rotate the rotating stem relative to the housing such that the wand directs a volume of cleaning fluid and gas towards the threads.

摘要: A wet masking system for applying a maskant to a portion of a workpiece includes one or more pressurized mixing vessels with agitators for continuously blending the ingredients of the maskant, a dispensing system connected to the vessels for supplying metered volumes of maskant to injection valves. An electronic controller operable for controlling the system to coat the portion. A fixture for holding the workpiece with just the portion inside a cavity of the fixture includes one or more inlet ports alignable with injection ports of the injection valves injecting the maskant into the cavity. Heaters are positioned for drying or flash drying the maskant on the portion of the workpiece. Recirculation lines from the injection valves to at least one of the mixing vessels operated by the controller to flow the maskant through the recirculation lines after a period of time when no maskant is flowing through masking system.
