Abstract: A mobile device is provided. The mobile device includes a communication unit configured to communicate with a plurality of counterpart mobile devices; a display unit; and a controller configured to control the communication unit to transmit a request for participation in an ad-hoc network to the plurality of counterpart mobile devices, receive an acceptance signal from at least one counterpart mobile device among the plurality of counterpart mobile devices, to control the display unit to provide status information on the participation in the ad-hoc network based on the received acceptance signal, such that the at least one counterpart mobile device, which transmits the acceptance signal, reproduces a content which is being reproduced in the mobile device.
