Abstract: A method, apparatus, or computer-readable medium with instructions for beam management for radio frequency (RF) sensing at a wireless device. The wireless device performs a first beamsweep of an RF signal and measures a reflection of the RF signal based on the first beamsweep. The wireless device performs a second beamsweep of the RF signal, wherein the first beamsweep is based on a different parameter than the second beamsweep and measures the reflection of the RF signal based on the second beamsweep. The wireless device selects a beam for RF sensing based on the first beamsweep and the second beamsweep.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) radio frequency (RF) sensing with polarization configuration. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving at a network node participating in 5G NR RF sensing a first polarization indicator and a second polarization indicator from a network entity. The first polarization indicator is associated with transmission of a first reference sensing signal and the second polarization indicator is associated with reception of a second reference sensing signal. The network node performs sensing measurements using the first polarization indicator and the second polarization indicator and transmits a sensing measurement report including the sensing measurements associated with the second reference sensing signal to the network entity. Abstract: Aspects of sensor activation or deactivation for positioning a mobile device in a wireless communication network are disclosed. These aspects include, during a positioning session between the mobile device and a location server, determining with the location server that a first trigger condition or a second trigger condition has been met regarding reporting, by the mobile device to the location server, of sensor data from one or more sensors of the mobile device, where: the first trigger condition may comprise a trigger condition for activating the reporting, and the second trigger condition may comprise a trigger condition for deactivating the reporting. Aspects further include sending, from the location server to the mobile device, a message may comprise either: instructions to activate the reporting responsive to determining the first trigger condition has been met, or instructions to deactivate the reporting responsive to determining the second trigger condition has been met.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) transmits reference signals for positioning while in Idle or Inactive state. While in a connected state, the UE is pre-configured with Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource configuration including at least one of timing adjustment (TA) and an uplink (UL) transmission spatial filter. The UE transmits positioning SRS while in Idle or Inactive mode based on the pre-configuration. The TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be updated by a serving base station using control signals or a paging message received by the UE while in in Idle or Inactive mode. The validity of the TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be monitored using expiration timers or a relative position change threshold. The reference signals transmitted may be based on a UE may Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), which is insensitive to TA changes. A long sequence PRACH may be used for improved positioning accuracy.

Abstract: A parameter server located at a base station may coordinate federated learning among multiple user equipment (UEs) using over-the-air (OTA) aggregation with power control to mitigate aggregation distortion due to amplitude misalignment. The parameter server may select a first group of UEs for a first OTA aggregation session of a federated learning round based on a common received power property of each UE in the first group of UEs. The parameter server may transmit a global model to the first group of UEs. Each UE in the first group may train the global model based on a local dataset and transmit values associated with the trained local model. The parameter server may receive, on resource elements for the first group of UEs, a first aggregate amplitude modulated analog signal representing a combined response from the first group of UEs.
