Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify time and frequency resources for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) in a first transmission time interval (TTI). The base station may transmit configuration information for a control channel search space set in a second TTI. The second TTI may precede the first TTI. The configuration information may include an indication of an absence of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission to send in the control channel search space set indicating the identified time and frequency resources for the PDSCH, and a set of time and frequency resources for the control channel search space set. The UE may receive the configuration information and identify the time and frequency resources allocated for the PDSCH in the second TTI, and receive the PDSCH transmission in the second TTI.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam failure recovery requests. in one example, a beam failure of a beam is detected, and a determination is made of which beam failure recovery resources to utilize for a beam failure recovery request based on a network configuration. The beam failure recovery request can be transmitted via beam failure recovery resources. In another example, a scheduling entity determines beam failure conditions associated with detecting a beam failure, and ascertains a network configuration for a scheduled entity that can include parameters associated with the beam failure conditions, as well as parameters associated with determining beam failure recovery resources or for transmitting a beam failure recovery request. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

An exemplary method generally includes selecting, from a set of code rates, a code rate to be used to encode a stream of bits using a polar code, based on at least one of a downlink control channel aggregation size, an uplink control channel assignment, or a payload size of the stream of bits, encoding the stream of bits using the polar code and the selected code rate, and transmitting the encoded stream of bits.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may initiate a random access (RACH) procedure using an uplink resource selected based on a corresponding received synchronization signal block. The UE may detect a random access procedure trigger. The UE may configure a selection threshold time. The selection threshold time may be based at least in part on a latency requirement of the UE. The UE may select a synchronization signal block having a corresponding uplink resource within the selection threshold time. The synchronization signal block and corresponding uplink resource satisfy one or more parameters or conditions. The UE may transmit a random access preamble on the corresponding uplink resource.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided which may be implemented in a base station, user equipment, and/or the like, to share information supportive of narrow beam transmissions. For example, a base station may be configured to access a neighbor cell list corresponding to a coverage area, determine a subset of the neighbor cell list corresponding to a first narrow beam to be transmitted, and transmit a message indicative of the subset of the neighbor cell list. In another example, a user equipment may be configured to receive a message indicative of a subset of a neighbor cell list for a portion of a coverage area of a base station corresponding to a first narrow beam, and search for one or more wireless signals based, at least in part, on the subset of the neighbor cell list.

Abstract: A user equipment apparatus determines whether a transmission is received from a base station within a time window and skips measurement of a reference signal during a subsequent period, when a transmission is received from the base station within the time window. A base station apparatus configures a UE to monitor one or more reference signals associated with a beam pair link and transmits a first signal in a transmission to the UE. The base station determines whether the transmission is received at the UE within a time window and determines whether to transmit a reference signal, based on whether the transmission is received at the UE within the time window. Upon determining that the transmission was received at the UE, the base station may skip transmission of the reference signal or modify a time, a frequency, a power, and/or a reference signal offset for the reference signal.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the transmission of group common control information in 5G New Radio (NR) wireless communication systems. Group common control information may be transmitted to a group or subset of user equipment (UEs) within a cell utilizing a beam-sweeping configuration. A base station may utilize a plurality of transmit beams to transmit information within the cell, and a subset of the transmit beams may be identified for use in transmitting the group common control information to the group of UEs. In addition, the base station may identify spatial quasi-colocation (QCL) relationships between reference beams corresponding in direction to the selected subset of transmit beams and resources reserved for the group common control information and provide the spatial QCL relationships to the UEs in the group.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus, e.g., a base station, maybe configured to obtain UE information of a UE. The apparatus may configure one or more parameters of one or more measurement gaps based on the UE information, and transmit, to the UE, measurement gap information on the one or more measurement gaps. The measurement gap information may include the one or more configured parameters. In another aspect of the disclosure, a UE maybe configured to transmit, to a base station, UE information of the UE. The UE may receive a measurement request from the base station in response to the UE information, where the measurement request includes configuration information for one or more measurement gaps based on the transmitted UE information. The UE may measure one or more reference signals during at least one measurement gap.
