    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A terminal device receives first indication information from a network device, where the first indication information includes at least one first threshold; and the terminal device determines, based on the first indication information, to disable or enable a HARQ function of at least one HARQ process. According to the method provided in embodiments of this application, a delay problem of a HARQ mechanism caused by a large delay in non-terrestrial network communication can be effectively resolved, thereby increasing a data transmission rate.

    Abstract: This application provides a data packet integrity protection method and apparatus, and a storage medium. A first network device configures a terminal to perform integrity protection on a part of data packets in a MAC PDU. After receiving a first data packet and a second data packet from the terminal, a second network device sends the first data packet, the second data packet, and first indication information to the first network device, to indicate that the two data packets belong to a same MAC PDU. When failing to perform integrity verification on the first data packet based on the first indication information fails, the first network device discards the foregoing two data packets. This reduces complexity of integrity protection.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the communications field and disclose an access network node, a core network node, and a paging method, for use in a paging process, so as to resolve a problem that a machine to machine (M2M) service cannot be normally used because a network side cannot determine whether a coverage enhancement technology needs to be used in a paging process.
