    Abstract: In some implementations, an electronic device includes a display stack to display content. The display stack can include a number of substrates coupled using a first optically clear adhesive (OCA) and a second OCA. In an implementation, the first OCA includes an acrylic-containing OCA and the second OCA includes a silicon-containing OCA. In some instances, the first OCA can include an additive to filter ultraviolet radiation. In a particular implementation, the first OCA can have a total luminous transmittance of no greater than approximately 30% for at least a portion of the UV spectrum radiation.

    Abstract: An electronic device may include a display assembly that is adhered to a cover sheet and the cover sheet is elastically bonded to a frame with a compressive and elastic bonding component. Inside the device, the display assembly is spaced apart from the frame, which allows the display assembly to bend or move. The compressive and elastic bonding component has two strong adhesive layers and a low modulus layer that dissipates stress of the display assembly via the cover sheet, such that the compressive and elastic bonding component permits the cover sheet to bend.

    Abstract: Assemblies and techniques are provided for light guides integrated into display devices having front light sources. In one aspect, a light guide can include one or more reflective coatings that are applied or otherwise integrated onto one or more internal surfaces of the light guide. Application of at least one reflective coating can modify the luminance and/or chromaticity of the light guide. The one or more coatings can comprise one or more applied layers of paint, such as a layer of a glossy colored paint and/or a layer of a chrome paints.

    Abstract: A power storage unit (e.g., a battery) may replace the structural components that support the display of an electronic device. The power storage unit may be adhered to the back surface of the display to provide structural support and to allow for bend or flex of the display. A self-healing layer may prevent or inhibit leaking of materials from within the power storage unit if the power storage unit is cracked or pierced. Alternatively, the power storage unit may be built on a flexible circuit that is associated with the display of the electronic device, where the flexible circuit/power storage unit may be folded around the display and affixed to the back surface of the display. The power storage unit may also be built on substrate associated with the back surface of the display. These configurations may cause a significant reduction in the depth or thickness of the electronic device.

In some instances, the cover component including an antiglare layer having at least some antiglare properties applied to a top surface of a substrate and a touch pattern applied to a bottom surface of the substrate. In some cases, the touch pattern is a single layer multi-touch pattern connected to a touch controller to from a touch sensor capable of detecting the location of an object proximate to antiglare layer.
