Abstract:
A computer telephony interface (CTI) applications computer interfaces to a Internet telephony system which utilizes, preferably, the session initiation protocol (SIP). In one preferred technique, an additional pass through server is added to connect end users to their associated SIP proxy server, and to connect a CTI applications computer to the system.
Abstract:
The technique is described whereby an external application computer can exercise call monitoring and control over calls in a packet network telephony environment, wherein a separate application computer is utilized to communicate with the gatekeeper computer already known in the art of packet network telephone communications, and wherein that gatekeeper computer is enhanced beyond the current art to implement the required communication protocol with the external application computer.
Abstract:
A method is presented comprising transmitting, from an application computer communicably connected to a call controller which is connected to a data network, packetized messages indicative of telephone calls in progress at an endpoint of the data network, or indicative of such endpoint, and transmitting, from the call controller to the application computer, packetized messages indicative of a variety of information contained in, or relevant to, the telephone calls so as to process such information for a variety of applications. Apparatus to implement the method is also presented.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are presented for transmitting, from an application computer in communication with a gatekeeper which is connected to a data network, messages indicative of telephone calls in progress at an endpoint of the data network, or indicative of such endpoint, and transmitting, from the gatekeeper to the application computer, messages indicative of a variety of information contained in the telephone calls so as to process such information for a variety of applications. The invention contains a method for providing to a user of the system information relative to the incoming caller and to the subject of the call.
Abstract:
Described herein is a method and apparatus for connecting packet telephony calls between secure networks and non-secure networks. A first telephony stream having information content for delivery to a first address may be received wherein the first telephony stream is formatted according to a first communication protocol used by a first network. The first telephony stream may be terminated at a secure boundary between the first network and a second network. A second address associated with the first address may be identified. A second telephony stream having the information content and formatted according to the second communication protocol may be delivered to the second address.
