摘要: An apparatus and method for providing a virtual online live video channel are disclosed. In one implementation, a processing device may receive a request to play the virtual online linear video channel from a video player. The processing device may establish a connection between a manifest server and the video player. The processing device may further identify a schedule for the virtual online linear video channel, the schedule identifies a plurality of video sources. The processing device may then cause a live video stream, a prerecorded video signal and at least one advertisement corresponding to the schedule of the virtual online linear video channel to be retrieved from respective locations to produce the virtual online linear video channel for presentation to a user of the video player.

摘要: Optimizing media distribution of a media steam performed by at least one processor, is provided, including: receiving immersive media data for an immersive presentation from a content source; acquiring asset information corresponding to media assets in a set of scenes included in the immersive media data; analyzing characteristics of the media assets, from the asset information, used in the set of scenes to determine whether a respective media asset is unique among the media assets; and generating metadata information that uniquely identifies the respective media asset for reusing the respective media asset in the set of scenes, based on determining that the respective media asset is not unique among the media assets in the set of scenes included in the immersive media data for the immersive presentation.

Disclosed examples methods include identifying, by executing an instruction with a processor, in the return path data, first tuning data corresponding to a first group of set top boxes, the first group of set top boxes classified as associated with machine events, determining, by executing an instruction with a processor, a ratio between first tuning events in the return path data and second tuning events in the return path data, the first tuning events attributed to the first group of the set top boxes, the second tuning events attributed to a second group of the set top boxes classified at not associated with machine events, and in response to the ratio satisfying a threshold during a time interval, removing second tuning data associated with the time interval from the first tuning data.

摘要: This present application relates to delivery of data content across a mesh network of proxy servers based on network context. In some embodiments, optimal paths for delivering the application or data content are computed and selected dynamically based upon context of network traffic. In some embodiments, large data content, such as video content, is segmented dynamically based on network context to reduce delay between a request for the video content by a client device and start of playback of the requested video content at the client device. In some embodiments, a server determines a segmentation profile for segmenting the video content into a plurality of video segments each having a segment size determined based on link performance metrics, generates a manifest file referencing the plurality of video segments in a temporal order and provide the manifest file to a client device.

An example apparatus includes one or more processors to execute instructions to process first metadata associated with video to identify the video as corresponding to an episode of a television show, the video made available by a first device. The example one or more processors are to update a database to include first information concerning the episode of the television show based on the first metadata and access second metadata associated with the video, the second metadata collected from a second device. Additionally, the example one or more processors are to process the second metadata to determine second information about the episode of the television show and augment the database with the second information about the episode of the television show.

摘要: Television is the largest advertising category in the United States with over 65 billion spent by advertisers per year. A variety of different targeting algorithms are compared, ranging from the traditional age-gender targeting methods employed based on Nielsen ratings, to new approaches that attempt to target high probability buyers using Set Top Box data. The performance of these different algorithms on a real television campaign is shown, and the advantages and limitations of each method are discussed. In contrast to other theoretical work, all methods presented herein are compatible with targeting the existing 115 million Television households in the United States and are implementable on current television delivery systems.
