    摘要: A tape drive (226) for use in a tape library (10) that retains at least one tape cartridge (220) that retains magnetic tape (250) includes a drive housing (226A) and a media conditioner (255). The drive housing (226A) is configured to receive the tape cartridge (220). The media conditioner (255) is coupled to the drive housing (226A). The media conditioner (255) is configured to condition the magnetic tape (250) when the tape cartridge (220) is received within the drive housing (226A). The media conditioner (255) can be configured to remove at least one of abrasives, contaminants and lubricants that are on the magnetic tape (250) when the tape cartridge (220) is received within the drive housing (226A). The magnetic tape (250) is configured to move along a predefined path (251) within the drive housing (226A), which is defined by one or more rollers (254). The rollers (254) can include a modified roller (270) having a roller body (274) and an outer coating (276) that is affixed on an outer surface (274A) of the roller body (274). The media conditioner (255) can include the modified roller (270).

    摘要: In order to reduce the possibility of occurrence of retraction of a cleaning member during cleaning of a magnetic head and the possibility of the cleaning member not being able to return to a retraction position due to stopping part way, the cleaning enabling device is provided with: a holding member having a first surface capable of holding the cleaning member for cleaning the magnetic head, and a second surface capable of lifting a magnetic tape from the magnetic head; a transmission part which transmits a first driving force for driving a first driving member; and a first force application part which applies, to the holding member, a first force in a direction that causes the cleaning member to remain in the retraction position when the cleaning member is in the retraction position and releases the first force when the cleaning member is drawn away from the retraction position.

The opposing surfaces can include a cleaning feature configured to clean at least one component of the check-reading machine when the cleaning card is fed through the check-reading machine. An ink can be located on at least one of the opposing surfaces. The ink can define a set of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) characters capable of identifying the cleaning card. The position of the set of MICR characters can coincide with a routing field of the cleaning card as defined in accordance with the standard of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) X9 family of standards. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are also described.
