The magnetic recording medium group includes a first magnetic recording medium, a plurality of second magnetic recording media, and a plurality of third magnetic recording media. The magnetic head group includes a first magnetic head, a plurality of second magnetic heads, and a plurality of third magnetic heads. The first magnetic head is configured to record data on the first magnetic recording medium by a first method. One of the plurality of second magnetic heads is configured to record data on one of the plurality of second magnetic recording media by a second method different from the first method. One of the plurality of third magnetic heads is configured to record data on one of the plurality of third magnetic recording media by the second method.

The system includes a plurality of storage devices such as solid state drives, a system controller such as a baseboard management controller, and one or more cooling fans. Each storage devices includes a controller configured to estimate the heat load in the storage device and/or an effective temperature, resulting from operations performed in the storage device. The system controller employs active disturbance rejection control to adjust the fan speed based on the estimated heat loads, the estimated temperatures, and/or the sensed internal temperatures, of the storage devices.
