    Abstract: An optical device includes: a plurality of walls including at least a first wall and a second wall, wherein the plurality of walls are concentrically disposed around a first axis so as to be multi-stepped along the first axis, wherein each of the plurality of walls expands outward in a sector shape around the first axis at a predetermined central angle θ and includes an outer circumferential surface, a reflective curved surface at the outer circumferential surface, a first side end portion, and a second side end portion; a first reflective surface meeting the first side end portions of the walls; and a second reflective surface meeting the second side end portions of the walls. The first reflective surface and the second reflective surface meet each other on the first axis.

    Abstract: A composite stone panel (1) is provided. The composite stone panel (1) comprises a front panel and a backing panel. The back of the front panel comprises a counter-relief image (11) filled with a light-transmitting reinforcing filler and is attached to the backing panel. The backing panel comprises a light source (6) or an opening for receiving the light source (6). The light source (6) or opening is positioned to transmit light towards the counter-relief image (11). A relief (3) is then formed at the front of the composite stone panel (1). The relief (3) is positioned opposite to the counter-relief image (11).

    Abstract: A multilayered printed matter includes a group of print layers formed on a medium. The group of layers include a front layer and a back layer on which patterns are printed, a white layer, and a black layer. The white layer is interposed between the front layer and the back layer to conceal the back layer to be invisible from the side of the front layer. The white layer reflects incident light from the side of the front layer to allow the front layer to be visible from the side of the front layer. The black layer is interposed between the white layer and the back layer to conceal the back layer to be invisible from the side of the front layer. In comparison between the black layer and the white layer that are equal in thickness, the black layer exerts a higher light blocking effect than the white layer.

    Abstract: A vehicle lighting system is provided primarily for use with emergency response vehicles. The vehicle lighting system includes at least one luminescent planar sheet affixed to a vehicle's mounting surface. The luminescent planar sheet includes a non-luminescent printed circuit board in the shape of a letter or number which has a top surface of a color which contrasts with the mounting surface's color. The luminescent planar sheet includes a plurality of light emitting LEDs which are surface mounted upon the printed circuit board so as to be arranged in the shape of the desired letter or number with the LEDs covering no more than 20% of the printed circuit board's top surface. Preferably, the LEDs cover no more than 7% the printed circuit board's top surface.
