Abstract: An aircraft cabin lighting system comprises one or more cabin lighting units, each cabin lighting unit comprising an emergency exit sign arranged to be electrically illuminated; and one or more luminescent emergency exit signs. The luminescent emergency exit signs are portable, and each comprise an adhesive layer arranged to allow the luminescent emergency exit sign to be adhered to a surface. The signs are arranged to be adhered to a surface in the vicinity of the electrical emergency exit sign in use, and do not require electricity to function.

Abstract: A firefighter identification system for use with a firefighter's cylindrical air bottle includes a C-shaped metal band to be slipped or snapped onto the cylindrical air bottle and having an outer surface. Removable labels are placed on the C-shaped metal band. The removable labels can comprise flexible adhesive-backed labels or flexible magnetic labels. The removable labels are a combination of photoluminescent with reflective. The C-shaped metal band comprises a spring steel band and has flared ends to help ease the metal band over a cylindrical oxygen bottle.

Abstract: A multilayered printed matter includes a group of print layers formed on a medium. The group of layers include a front layer and a back layer on which patterns are printed, a white layer, and a black layer. The white layer is interposed between the front layer and the back layer to conceal the back layer to be invisible from the side of the front layer. The white layer reflects incident light from the side of the front layer to allow the front layer to be visible from the side of the front layer. The black layer is interposed between the white layer and the back layer to conceal the back layer to be invisible from the side of the front layer. In comparison between the black layer and the white layer that are equal in thickness, the black layer exerts a higher light blocking effect than the white layer.

Abstract: A vehicle lighting system is provided primarily for use with emergency response vehicles. The vehicle lighting system includes at least one luminescent planar sheet affixed to a vehicle's mounting surface. The luminescent planar sheet includes a non-luminescent printed circuit board in the shape of a letter or number which has a top surface of a color which contrasts with the mounting surface's color. The luminescent planar sheet includes a plurality of light emitting LEDs which are surface mounted upon the printed circuit board so as to be arranged in the shape of the desired letter or number with the LEDs covering no more than 20% of the printed circuit board's top surface. Preferably, the LEDs cover no more than 7% the printed circuit board's top surface.
