Abstract: A visible light sensor (VLS) may be configured to sense environmental characteristics using images of a space. The VLS may be controlled in one or more modes, including a daylight glare sensor mode, a daylighting sensor mode, a color sensor mode, and/or an occupancy/vacancy sensor mode. In the daylight glare sensor mode, the VLS may be configured to decrease or eliminate glares. In the daylighting sensor mode and/or color sensor mode, the VLS may be configured to provide a preferred amount of light and color temperature, respectively, within the space. In the occupancy/vacancy sensor mode, the VLS may be configured to detect an occupancy/vacancy condition within the space and adjust one or more control devices according to the occupation or vacancy of the space. The visible light sensor may be configured to protect the privacy of users within the space via software, a removable module, and/or a special sensor.

Abstract: A translator pen and a translation method using same are provided. The translator pen includes a housing and a pen head. The housing forms a first accommodation cavity adapted to accommodate an image collector. An outer contour of the pen head is formed into a tapered shape, an outer diameter of the pen head gradually decreases along a direction of the pen head away from the housing and forms a second accommodation cavity adapted to accommodate a pen core. At least a portion of the end of the housing, which does not form the pen head, forms an inclined surface. The inclined surface is inclined relative to the outer contour of the pen head toward an outside of the housing along a direction of the housing away from the pen head. The image collector is configured to face the inclined surface.

Abstract: Disclosed herein a method for agile simulation of a stochastic computing image processing where the input operands are processed with the aid of a correlation-controlled contingency table (CT) construct without using actual stochastic bit-streams. The disclosed method utilizes contingency tables to perform (i) template matching, (ii) image compositing, and (iii) pattern detection. Results show that the proposed approach achieves similar computation accuracy to the traditional stochastic computing simulation while performing runtime- and memory-efficient computations.

Abstract: An image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a display control unit and a processing executing unit. The display control unit controls display of a designation image capable of designating a region with respect to a target image. The processing executing unit executes processing associated with the designation image on a designated region designated by the designation image. The processing executing unit executes, on an overlap region in which a first designated region designated by a first designation image and a second designated region designated by a second designation image overlap with each other, first processing associated with the first designation image and second processing associated with the second designation image. The display control unit moves the second designation image in conjunction with movement of the first designation image when the overlap region exists.

Abstract: Systems, devices, methods, and computer readable media are provided in various embodiments relating to generating a dynamic challenge passphrase data object. The method includes establishing, a plurality of data record clusters, representing a mutually exclusive set of structured data records of an individual, ranking the plurality of feature data fields based on a determined contribution value of each feature data field relative to the establishing of the data record cluster, and identifying, using the ranked plurality of feature data fields, a first and a second feature data field of the plurality of feature data fields. The method includes generating the dynamic challenge passphrase data object, wherein the first or the second feature data field is used to establish a statement string portion, and a remaining one of the first or the second feature data field is used to establish a question string portion and a correct response string.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide systems and methods to enable object replacement. A central computing system can receive data associated with quantities of like physical objects from remote systems. The central computing system can adjust the first quantity of the like physical objects stored in the first one of the remote systems based on the second quantity of the like physical objects stored in the at least another one of the remote systems. The central computing system can determine the like physical objects are absent from the facility. An autonomous robot device can detect a vacant space at the designated location at which the like physical objects are supposed to be disposed. The autonomous robot device using the image capturing device can capture an image of the vacant space. The central computing system can determine a set of like replacement physical objects to be disposed in the vacant space.

Abstract: A system and method for image recognition registration of a person into an event. The person is registered in the event using image recognition technology. A digital image of the person taken by a camera is compared with a stored profile image of the person to identify the person and enter them into the event without the need for the person to pre-register for the particular event. Enhanced recognition techniques incorporating pattern recognition may be used to increase identity accuracy.

Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a user in an authentication system using a computing device configured to capture authentication biometric identity information. The authentication biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. The authentication biometric identify information may comprise or be derived from one or more images of the user being authenticated. The authentication biometric identify information is compared to root identify biometric information. The root identify biometric information is captured from a trusted source, such as trusted devices located at trusted locations, such as a government entity, financial institution, or business. Identity verification may occur by comparing the trusted root identify biometric information to the biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. Liveness determination may also occur to verify the user is a live person. Liveness determination may include comparing two images of the user such that the two images are captured at different distances from the user.
